Pacers fire coach Rick Carlisle

Carlisle is a good coach, if he can find an assistant who can keep players in check and not have to worry about offcourt issues he can be very effective as he has proved in both detroit and indiana (pre-brawl).

a number of teams will likely pick him up. i would love to see him go to Minnesota and revive that franchise.

are they looking for a new coach? he'd probably be a pretty good fit. they'd at least play consistant defense and maybe get more out of kg in the post.

since this event has taken place...will mchale change his mind and bring carlisle in? what if KG requests carlisle, will mchale bring him in?

that's why i said "at least" rick's level. in that you couldn't rank him any lower. you can certainly rank him higher to your heart's content.

This mess in Indi wasn't Carlisle's fault... of course, he'll be the one punished, but the team is a mess, with or without him, and there's very little else he could have done to make them sucessful.

I would absolutely love Carlisle in Minnesota.

He's got the positives Casey had (a solid defensive approach that gave the Wolves a great team defense), but he's not offensively inept and he's not brainless when it comes to substitutions.

Rick Carlise would be GREAT in Minnesota.
