You're using a game from 11 years ago, before he started mainly playing Center, to make your point?

Would Duncan be as dominant in the 60's as Wilt was? I don't know. Maybe he would.

I don't even personally care for the GOAT lists. But, from the way people do them, wilt and Kareem are out of reach.

I mean, does anybody doubt that Shaq would dominate the shit out of the 60s or 70s? I wouldn't be surprised if he could have a 200 point game. Dude could just dunk on every single possession.

Really? So I don't talk about his ability to work perfectly in a team, or his defense (not put into stats), or his overall accomplishments?

Playing Center.

Duncan was almost pure center the past few years since it's better for his mobility to play paint defensive anchor. Back when he played with drop and was the spurs highest scorer? He scored a ton off long midrange jumpers and shots outside the paint.. Way more than Shaq and other typical centers

I never said that Duncan NEVER played PF. He did, his first few years, when he was along side Robinson.

Starting in the mid-2000's, he was playing Center most of the time. Guarding the opposing center, and the opposing center guarding him.

So, most of his career was playing Center, that's all I'm saying.

Wait, we should be using 35+ year old Duncan with shakey knees and decreased athleticism to determine position?

Get real, Duncan definitely played PF in hundreds upon hundreds of games. As much as yall stans want, can't go back and change that.

Duncan is a F-C, and the greatest PF to ever play. Dirk recently called him the GOAT PF too.

Wilt was simply better. He's easily in my top 3.

I don't use accolades primarily in player vs. player debates...what are you even talking about?

No, Wilt was not simply better than Duncan. The people he played with hated him, and he outright choked more than maybe anyone else in league history. He dominated an era when offensive interferences weren't called properly, and people were having 30/15 seasons like nobody's business.

I'm not even saying Wilt has no case over Duncan. If you choose him fine...but to say it's not a debate is absurd. Duncan did a lot more against far stiffer competition...against 4 times as many teams.

I've always felt his game was more predicated to a back to the basket style. Sure he had an outside (left outer block - off the backboard) shot (btw Kareem was drilling skyhooks at that distance), but his bread and butter was being that traditional C. . In my eyes, he is the prototypical center if there was ever one.

The 1 stat that really show the weakness of Wilt and Russell's era is their rebound numbers. It's quite clear that there were a small handful of dominant players surrounded by complete chumps.

These days, everybody is pretty good so you don't see 1 guy being able to bully his way to grabbing all the rebounds. Wilt once grabbed 55 rebounds against Russell. What does that tell you? There were only 2 guys on the floor capable of rebounding. The rest just bounced out right into a guys hands.
