I was having a discussion with someone concerning how little respect Elton Brand gets from the refs, and during the course of the conversation, he said that D. Wade suffers the most non-calls of any star in the league. I don't agree, but it leads me to this question... Which stars do you think suffer the most number of non-calls or are officiated the least consistently in the league?
Shaq gets mauled fairly routinely. It just doesn't move his body so much. Also, calling EVERY foul committed against Shaq approaches impracticality.
Garnett does get banged up quite a bit, but he's usually so adept at getting around it that it seldom looks like he's getting fouled. I can understand why it's not called a lot. Also, it doesn't upset me that much because he doesn't play the type of game that's conducive to drawing a lot of fouls.
Elton hands down in my opinion, along with KG. Why? Because they are laid back, unselfish on the court and won't go after the refs, like Kobe would, which is why he gets too many phantom calls and bs calls.
dont ever say tim duncan. he gets more calls than anyone in the nba.
As for the shaq stuff, he gets mauled alot without calls but if the game was called according to the rules people wouldnt need to foul him to be able to guard him so i dont really count him.
I gotta go with Shaq, at least historically, if not now. I think he's gotten the most non-calls over a career that I've seen.
And oddly enough, I actually think Kobe, as many calls as he does get, gets fouled quite a bit more than is called. It's hard to tell from my low-def TV, but it seems like we get goes in the lane and starts changing his shot around there's a lot contact that doesn't get called, fairly often.
