Not so sure.. You want to put Luke in a flat out Run and Gun system?

He has the passing ability but he can't run and his shot is inconsistent.

Triangle is the only offense for him. Everything else is just guessing around.

In order to play in a Suns system you need to be athletic and a good shooter or finisher, perferably both. That's at least how I see it.
Those aren't Luke's strengths..

The only reason why he scores so much is because he knows the triangle IMO. He can pick his spots and things like that...

I'm not sure he'd be that much of a difference maker on the Suns..

Anyways, I think Luke Walton can play well in a RUN N GUN offense...He was great at Arizona in a NBA offense that was very high-paced. Yes he isnt the most athetic guy but he has very good timing and positioning on the court and I think those factors are just as important as being athletic. He also isnt that bad of a shooter.

Diaw is kinda of a poor man Luke in terms of intelligence and passing although those are the things that Diaw excels as well, the only difference is that Diaw is much more athletic.

I think so.. Love Luke's game but Diaw is just much more talented and able to play more positions yet he isn't a tweener. That athleticism allows him to be more versatile.

He's more complete than Luke, definitely.
I know he can't do that in Phoenix but I think he can really be a difference maker defensively and guard a couple of positions. Luke OTOH is a defensive liability considering how athletic the SF position is.

I actually think Luke is worse than Diaw. Diaw also has the potential to be a lot better. Diaw isnt just more athletic, he also is a very good one on one player and a better post defender. He just needs to be more aggresive.

Anyways yes Luke and Diaw out there would be a little redundant but Im all for packaging Diaw, Banks and the Atlanta pick for a great player.(Thats if he continues to dissapoint.)

I hope they don't pay Walton more than about $6 million a year on an extension.

I always end up liking players a little less if I think they're overpaid.

He'd be great for the Hawks. He'd actually be great for the Cavs, who could use him passing skills as well.

We could use a passer in the front court, then Josh can move full time to power forward, and Marvin can be a sixth man.

Luke is becoming a solid NBA pro.

Oh, and if the Lakers don't want Radmanovic, they can send him to the Hawks for the expiring contract of Lorenzen Wright.

Luke is a solid SF in this league. He is one of the passing SF in the NBA, and he knows the triangle offense better than anyone on Lakers team other than Kobe. He might not be a good/great offensive player, but the Lakers don't need him to put up 20 a night to be good. Lakers just need Luke to avg. around 13-16 pts a night, 6 reb, 6 asst.

You can see that when Luke is in the game, the triangle flows so much better. And Kobe is able to get the ball in a position where he is ready to score rather than pounding the ball on the floor from 3pt line and jack up a bad shot.

So, i think 7-10 mil is the price range for Walton.. and Lakers should do everything they can to keep him.

Kwame got money for potential...when did Luke be looked at as a player who had more potential than Kwame Brown? Oh thats right he never has. So Luke doesnt deserve to get $9mil or more just because some idiot gave Kwame it.

6yr deal $42mil for Luke. Take it or leave it.

Luke will get the MLE.

He is worth, on a league wide basis, about 3-4 mil a year.
