When you're 5'10" and 160, you're going to be injury prone most of the time.

It's highly unlikely for Durant to suffer a major injury, but it's always a possibility. If you're guaranteed to be a top pick in the current draft, why risk it?

It's kind of like saying, "Here, I'll give you 8 million dollars. And I'll also give you the option to win another $50,000. You have a 99.9% chance of winning the $50,000, but if you lose the extra $50,000 you lose EVERYTHING; including the 8 million. Do you take the nearly certain $8,050,000, or the the guaranteed $8,000,000?

I second Livingston--he definitely made the right choice. There's a guy on Arizona's team named Jawann McClellan who was thisclose to being able to declare after his freshman year, and now he can't even start for his college team because of constant tendon problems.

As for Durant, he'll declare--he'd rather spend this summer shopping for cars instead of studying for tests. From what I've heard, he'd have a very tough time getting eligible for next season if he decided to stay.
