Sixers fans (and others), in our current situation
Would you trade Andre Iguodala to get Allen Iverson back into a Sixers uni?
Obviously not a fair trade straight up but with a package included, but we'd have to let Iggy go.
Re: Sixers fans (and others), in our current situation
Nah, I'll stick with rebuilding and watching Iggy develop more. Not sure if he is a franchise player...remains to be seen. But we'll see..young player who emerged this year. Add more talent, some solid vets and see what happens.

Funny how Answer is like the ex-GF that you went out with for ten years. When you were with her, you couldn't imagine life without her. The breakup was tough but now you can't see her back in your life.
I would do it. Provided Andre Miller stays and we can secure a low seed and get lucky in the draft. Draft around Allen. He's still got wheels to carry a load. But both situations would make me happy.
Re: Sixers fans (and others), in our current situation
If I were a sixers fan? Nope. It's time for the sixers to move forward and rebuild. They're doing a pretty good job of that with young talent like Iggy, Dalembert, and Carney. Iverson's contract and age made it hard for them to continue to try to build a winner around him. And AI finally has the help he's asked for in Denver. Better situation for AI and Philly now IMO.

well besides the NBA Finals and the playoffs 5 or 6 times i agree. :)
the current Sixers squad would NEVER work with Iverson. to win and go multiple rounds in the playoffs with Iverson you need a defensive minded team (Pistons, Spurs, Bulls, etc).
i never understood why Billy King dismantled the early 2000s Sixers like he did. he did away with Snow, Mutombo, Lynch, Raja Bell, etc for offense-only players like Glenn RObinson, Van Horn, Lee Nailon, etc. Anyone that knows anything about basketball knew that it wouldnt work. They basically gave AI the worst chance to win.
the only reason why our Denver squad looks better is because our all offensive team is full of higher quality players than the Sixers.

No, you dont trade for Iverson again.. Only way Iverson comes back is as a final piece to championship puzzle or right before he retires so he can retire as a sixer

That'd be funny, watching a 50 year old Iverson jack up off balance shots on 2 defenders.

Players who are about to return to their old team to retire dont actually play any games for the team, they simply get signed, show up, wave to the crowd and then they retire...

You're talking about Allen Iverson, not some cripple Scottie Pippen.
Re: Sixers fans (and others), in our current situation
It'd be really nice if Philadelphia could get a go-to post player. I hope they get a nice high pick and get to take one of the nice college bigs to pair with Iguodala.

So true...
The sad thing is that a go to post player is all we've need since Barkley left town.. Especially when AI was here. We really needed an offensive presence in the post to balance AI's dominance on the perimeter..
Now we Iggy who while not quite as talented as Iverson is bigger and he is able to do some things Allen couldnt..
