AI definitely has a killer instict IMO. He can take over games, go on a crazy scoring spree etc...
Just watch him play, it's unreal. I remember the things he was doing to the Lakers back in 2001. He's definitely a special player and not just because of his talent.

He doesn't have many, I believe after he scored a game winner for the USA he said that it was his first.
Regardless of that he is a clutch player. He may not have hit many game winners but I do remember him taking over many, many games.

you can't be serious. Dirk is a seven footer who shoots fadeaways all day, Iverson is 5'11, and goes right at the strongest, roughest players in the league every day just to give his team a chance. thats absolutely slanderous. If AI read this he'd probably break down and cry after putting his ass on the line for 10 years, playing hurt, dropping 50s in the playoffs, etc. I am really curious what you think killer instinct means. is killer instinct being the biggest 85+% FT choker in history? what about giving up a 2-0 Finals series lead against an inferior team? what about being a player who wins 60 games in the regular season and then proceeds to be a pushover in the playoffs every single year?

He's hit go ahead shots much like MJ did in the finals vs Utah. That shot is considered a game winner even tho Utah had another possession and time to score. AI doesnt have many buzzer beaters but he has game winners.

That's not true. A.I. has hit quite a few game winners in his career. He had a stretch of games either last season, or the season before that where he had like 3 or 4 games in a row hitting a game winner. He had that huge 3-pointer in the Olympics against Germany. He hit a big one in his second or third year in the League against Detroit. Either way, I can't remember all specific instances, but Iverson has had many a game winner. And he is a much more steady playmaker in the clutch, then Dirk Nowitzki. Remember that HUGE bucket over Tyronne Lue in the 2001 NBA Finals? He also hit a huge three right before that as well. To say Iverson isn't a clutch player, meh, you don't know your material.

Both players are overrated. AI more. What performance was better? Close call, one was guarded by Nash, and the other player against Portland's defense, and needed OT. Close call, but I'd give it to AI, 44/15/good %s is just too good

AI. Better stats against a better team, in regulation.

How is this even a discussion?

AI had the better game for sure. But the number 65 does catch your eye.

portland has good perimiter defense.

and what do you mean "needed OT?" the fact that he got 65 points and every single one of them was with the game on the line means a lot more than someone dropping 40 on a notoriously bad defender in a total blowout.

somehow you turned that in AI's favor. amazing.

I watched both games and Kobe's was easily more impressive. His team was down with a couple of minutes left in the fourth (aldridge 3 point play killed), and the only way they could come back is by making three after three. Kobe made 4 three's I believe over that stretch and sent the game to overtime while fading away. Then in overtime he sealed it.

AI had really only one good quarter. The third. I think he scored 24 points in the quarter and it's mainly because no one could challenge him in the lane as Amare was in foul trouble. He got a LOT of open layups because of this. It was still impressive though to see how many times he fed his teammates for dunks but I found Kobe's 65 to be the better performance because of the nature of the two games.
