Somebody had to do it, so it might as well be me. AI was hot 16 of 22 from the field kept his team involved with the 15 dimes and they ran the Suns out the building in the 131 to 107 win in regulation. Kobe's was more clutch, willing the team to victory after 7 straight losses with 24 in the 4th, and 9 more in OT, but altogether still only was 23 for 39, a good percentage but not the type of scorching shooting performance ESPN made it seem on Sportscenter. Which performance imprssed you the most.

Kobes was more impressive because of the margin for error in the fourth was so small. Ai had a great game though not taking anything away from his performance as a coach I would probably take iversons rather than kobes before the game, as a fan of basketball give me kobes.
Against a team that was up on his team late in the fourth quarter. There is no need to minimize a spectacular performance and that is all it was and anyone who says any different is a lethargic devil.
He tore the 2nd/3rd best team in the league to shreds. He had 15 assists/1 TO. That is just dynamite. Add 44 points in the mix off 16-22 shooting and you have a winner.
Not to mention Kobe got the "pimp-my-stats" in overtime luxury.
EDIT: KOBES WAS INCREDIBLE TOO. DONT TAKE IT TO HEART.
Both were impressive, AI much more so since he did it without over time and against a far superior team. As the 15 assists meant he didn't have to alienate his team to do it.

I thought they were about equal. AI had a ton of help, his team played great and helped him a lot. The game was also a blowout from the begining. Almost the whole game Denver was up by 20. But he was shaking Steve Nash and Bell like AI of old. I put them at about equal, giving the edge to Kobe(he is my dude) since he was making clutch plays. But I can see going AI's way to.
If AI had only scored 21 pts (they still would've beaten the Suns by 1 pt), I'd still take him over Kobe because he had 15 assists, 1 turnover, still managed time to score (with the league's leading scorer on his team), and he led his team to victory over the second best team in the league.
Kobe's was impressive, but he did it against the 7th worst team in the league (27th in opponents fg%), so that takes away from it. And as someone said earlier in the thread, he scored 7 pts in ot too.
GOBB you should be banned from AI topics, such blind homerism.
Only 4 players in the last 20yrs have dropped 40+ pts and 15+ assists.
Kevin Johnson, Tim Hardaway and Isiah Thomas. AI joins the group. He did it in 4 quarters and only had 1 turnover. His shooting %'s at both FG & FT were great. You take Kobe's 65 in OT? Cool, oh wait you didnt even attempt to answer the topic you babblibg idiot.
Just looking at the stats and who they played against, probably AI. He was blisteringly hot, and destroyed one of the top teams in the league. Mind you, was Steve Nash not guarding him for close to the entire game? I only caught most of the second half, but that's who was definately guarding him for a lot of it. Steve Nash. One of the worst defenders in the league.
If you actually watched the games though, Kobe's clutch play becomes way more impressive. The sheer level of difficulty of the shots he put up was mind boggling, and, although it was against Portland, they were still in an extremely losable game with mere moments left.

Nash guarded him for his first 10 points than guarded him in the second half. HE was shaking Nash up, nash stumbled on the baseline in the 1st quarter off and in and out. Than Nash tried to guard him again and seemed surprised when AI was still shaking him up. NAsh was so mad he called the ref a f'ing _itch.
