Question Why Does TNT and ESPN Refuse to Show Raptor Games?

Okay, I understand they want 2 amercian teams most of the time because they think they'll get better ratings, but can't they show atleast ONE Raptor game sometime?

Today it was said that ESPN chose to show an upcoming Pacers/Magic games rather than a Raptors/Wiz game, how does that make sense?! They'd rather show 2 teams that not only are under .500, but are very boring to watch, instead of 2 teams OVER .500 and are actually fun to watch. Do they think noone will tune in because americans will say "I'm not watching a Raptor game, I'm American!"

It's too bad you guys dont get to witness the development of Andrea Bargnani. He really is fun to watch on the offensive end. We're playing the Knicks BTW.

they lose viewers so obviously they won't show 'em much... until they become elite or very very good, it'll be hard for them to go national in the U.S... Bluejays get shown a little bit, especially when they're in the playoff race...

They don't have a big enough fan base in the United States to show games.

there should be an open TV sched at the end of the year where the NBA forces teams in playoff contention to be on TV.

that isnt gonna happen anytime soon though b/c the NBA is being held by the balls. the damn Conference Finals are on CABLE. Pathetic.

TNT plans these games BEFORE the season.

last season Raptors sucked. why would TNT feel compelled to schedule them?

dont worry, Raptors will get some next season.. provided the Heat or the Pistons are playin gas well.

that open TV idea would be a logistical nightmare.

not really. make it to where you can only pick from games after the AllStar break and make them pick 3 weeks in advance. you should have a pretty good idea of who is worth showing on TV and who isnt.

they do it in college football and basketball. no reason they cant in the NBA

NBA has signed contracts and assigns their camera crews to go to places etc...

They're not mainstream, they're not a big market team. Simple, the same thing happens SO much in baseball, to an extent that is discusting.

Your right man, the NFL did that last year with Sunday Night Football they called it a flex schedule, it was the teams that were most interesting to watch and were in the playoff hunt got to play, so it would be a good game most nights. And the NFL is doing is agin next year, I think like you said the NBA shoudl adopt something similar to that with ESPN.
