Default Should Utah try to trade Kirilenko for a sg this summer?

It seems he just doesn't fit in. Millsapp seems like a nice replacement, although he actually is a pf. He's uick, strong and can defend.

Ray Allen would be too much to ask for I guess. Adam Morrison wouldve looked right in a Utah uniform.

What do you think the Jazz should do this summer?

I've been assuming all season that Sloan is gradually grooming Brewer all year, so that next year he can unleash a beast of his own manipulative creation. Am I wrong here?

What about AK-47's defense? Is that of value to the Jazz as a role player? Or, is he really not the defensive stopper they need?

unless the deal is a no brainer, there is no reason to trade AK.

Ronnie Brewer has a chance to beeomc a good SG. Why waste AK's defense for something you don't need?

It's true that he doesn't fit in as well as he used to, that's because Utah has filled in a lot of holes and overlapped talent that covers a lot of his abilities since the days when he was the lone star on the team. I don't think he gets traded anytime soon, but if the right offer came along it could happen. Utah would not be able to replace his usually amazing shot blocking ability, but the other parts of his game could be filled in. Jazz need a shooting guard, and it might take Roni Brewer a while before he's really good, the other question is, can Millsap replace Kirelenko as a great SF, or is he a bit slow for some of the match-ups? I think Millsap could do it, just not sure.

I think this would work salary wise (estimated the math), but:

Clippers Get:
Grant Hill (Reupped for $6M)
Hedo Turkoglu

Jazz Get:
Corey Maggette
Zeljko Rebraca (Expiring Deal)

Magic Get:
Andrei Kirilenko

Clipps get guys who can help them win now which is the direction they'll be taking with Livingston gone.

Jazz get an explosive 2/3 in Maggette and an expiring deal they can use to extend Deron Williams with.

Magic get AK to replace the departing Turkoglu + Hill and also frees up time for Ariza + Redick. This deal would either form a pretty good core in Howard, Darko, AK, Ariza, Nelson or could lead to another trade to land them Vince.

not bad, but maybe eliminate the clips from this altogether. Trade HT and Hill for AK straight up. There is your starting 3 (in HT) and Grant can play the 2/3. What happens to harpring?

since there are no real defensive stoppers at the 2 position, Utah should either give Brewer a chance, or get a ROLE player who can stroke open shots with ease.

last thing they need is a two guard who demands the ball to be effective.

Why did they get rid of Devin Brown in the first place? He's an okay #5 guy, and he's definitely a better defender than Harpring or Giricek.

I thought I satisfied Utah's Euro infatuation by including Rebraca

Anyway, the reason I kept the Clipps in it though was because they've been looking to trade Maggette for awhile.

But to justify keeping the Clipps in it, my proposed deal would not require too many changes from Utah's perspective (why fix what's not broken?). Just plug in Maggette for AK and you got a positive change without messing up the rotation too much.

I also believe having the resources to extend Williams would be what pushes my deal over the top. One that your deal would not have the luxury of having unless G-Hill was to sign a 1 year extension.

exactly. Think Maggette would be happy when 60% of the shots are coming out of the 4 and 5? Good solid role player types is what they need. HT at the 3 and for the 3. All I am saying is give brewer a chance
