What? Karl was fired because Denver had the 2nd longest playoff streak in the entire NBA and made it out of the 1st round once. You don't win 57 games, lose in the 1st round after years of getting knocked out early and keep your job. I'm assuming the FO though Karl's system was great in the regular season but questioned it's success in the longterm so gave him the boot.
Developing players was probably part of it too. Karl likes to use stop gaps and gives older players the burn, Nuggets losing Iggy and Gallo being out had us trending downwards. You don't keep Karl for that. Everybody needed a fresh start.
Everybody probably thought it was stupid not even seeing what McGee was made of after dishing out the payday but you need to check your facts because Uri left first, Denver's FO was out and there the one's who paid McGee. Fans complained about Karl starting Kosta at times, simply because of the potential factor.
And for the record McGee's terrible start? Apparently he's been hurt for awhile. So who knows.
