Thomas makes sense if they want to compete but obviously with Lucas as anything but a 3rd stringer they are tanking hard.

I assume he means Teague? Depending on what they had to give up it could make sense if they really like him and Burke ends up having surgery and is out for longer than the 3-6 weeks. Could be a step up on Machado anyway.

Bummer news. Hopefully Burke's able to come back sooner than later.

Utah Jazz guard Trey Burke has undergone surgery to repair his fractured right index finger. Burke, the ninth overall pick in this year's NBA draft who was acquired in a trade with Minnesota, will wear a cast or splint for the next three weeks before being re-evaluated. A source close to Burke told ESPN The Magazine's Chris Broussard that Burke's timetable to return is close to six weeks.

Trey Burke: 8-12 weeks is very unreasonable people and idk who made that up. I appreciate the support and prayers but 4-6 weeks is more likely. Thanks

In their press release, the Jazz did not indicate whether or not pins were inserted into his fractured finger, something that could delay his return.
