Default Can we stop the whole "Lebron was drafted as a point guard!!!" gimmick?

Guy has above average court vision for a wing / forward but he always been a driving wing / forward. His point guard label was nothing but a marketing gimmick to attract flattering Magic Johnson comparisons. He wasn't actually the Cavs point guard as a rookie, he was their shooting guard.

He started his rookie year as a PG. He moved to the 2 once Ricky Davis got traded.

And to excuse him for his overly passive play at times, which was more of an insult to Magic then an actual legit explanation.

LeBron/ MJ/ Kobe/ Magic/ T-mac etc

All played the same position. You can call it point guard, shooting guard, small forward etc. It's all the same.

eg: Some centers like to pass and/or set picks moreso than others.. doesn't mean they play a different position.

Minus Magic, those players can be given the title of wing players. Magic was a legitimate point guard.

Kevin Ollie was the closest thing they had to a typical PG until the McInnis trade.. LeBron, Wagner, and Bremer all had ball-handling duties.

Starting lineup against the Kings for the opener was LeBron/Davis/Miles/Boozer/Big Z

Magic post Norm Nixon was closer to Chris Paul than Kobe Bryant as a player. He's 100% legit PG, while the same can't be said of the others.

That lineup didn't lasted long because opposite pg's use to rape Lebron on the drive.

It had more to do with conserving his energy. And he was turnover prone. But a few of them did beat him up with drives. Guys like Baron Davis were especially a tough guard for him. Team started to play better when they traded for Mcinnis and traded losers like Ricky Davis and Darius Miles. The OP is however wrong. He was the PG the first part of the season. They had a logjam at the wing spots with Davis, Miles, and Wagner.

nothing you do on the court is changed by what position label people describe you as. Calling him a PG or SG doesn't change anything he did.

If you know shit like this, then you should be old enough to know better than to spend all your time trolling an internet forum non stop. What's wrong with you?

He was drafted to help his franchise win a title, and he failed. IMO he is a bigger bust than Darko, Kwame, etc. imo, because unlike them, he PROMISED his city greatness. Darko never said he was good. Lebron called himself the Chosen One (better name is Frozen One, All Bronze Everything,or No Wade No Rings) and guaranteed a championship to Cleveland. And he failed, over and over and over.

Lebron was drafted to be a quality NBA player for the Cavaliers, and he failed at doing that. He is not a top 500 player of alltime, but instead a top 5 bust of alltime. We are all witness

LeBron made Cleveland great for a stretch there, 07-10, Cleveland was a special team and they were a contender EVERY year. LeBron never promised anything. Give him a break

And what does Lebron do? He goes out and gets torched by Rafer Alston, king of scrubs.

The next year? With a 2-1 lead with HCA, Lebron proceeds to have more turnovers than field goals over the next 3 games, and is thoroughly outplayed by a 35 year old Paul Pierce and Rajan "I can't shoot" Rondo.

Pretty funny that this guy thinks hes an NBA guru for wanking off to fast forwarded Russell clips, when stuff like this exposes him as someone that wasn't even watching the NBA in 2003.
