Default its harder to get behind this generations players because of their names

lets be honest.

the days of a star player coming out of college with a cool sounding name are over.

parents these days try too hard to be unique and less white oppressive influenced

so the odds of another guy being named david robinson or karl malone are over

no more michael jordans. no more julius ervings.. no more charles barkleys

now its like key and peeles comedy routine

now players are called demarquarious robinson, lemanicuy malone, pontavious-amarcus-deshawn-lequad malone, de-jwocaloop jordan, terelinquis erving, or monteljinaquoul-debron-porterlay barkley

nobody can get behind these guys. even if theyre a goat candidate potential prospect.

parents need to make names people wanna atleast know how to spell

like.. who names their kid nerlens

or kentavious-caldwell

or shabazz

or michaelkidd

i'l never be a fan of them just based on their first name.

So Kevin Durant, Chris Paul, Dwyane Wade, and Lebron James are all complicated names huh.

well... dwyane is stupid cause its spelled incorrectly

lebron is a dumb name too. but we're used to it cause we've heard it for 10 years and hes a great player.

it still makes no sense cause hes not french

its like "lebrian nash"

seriously. that guy isnt french either. his name should be brian.. not debrian. not jebrian.. not lebrian.. just brian

bron is just ron with a b infront of it. then they added "le"

lebrons real name is RON or RONALD james

but even then i was more referring to the new generation... and wade/james are far from the new generation. they entered the league a decade ago

Fans got behind a guy they called Magic as if it were his real name, a guy named Kobe, and a guy named Shaq.

Besides, it's a generalization anyway. For every Kentavious you've got a Chris Paul. Here are some of the names of today's stars: Tony Parker, Tim Duncan, Chris Paul, James Harden, Kevin Love, Blake Griffin, Paul George, Greg Monroe, Anthony Davis, John Wall...

because magic, kobe, shaq are simple

with shaq.. thats not even his name though.. its a short form nickname cause nobody wanted to call him shaquille. none of his fans did. people on tv call his shaq. why? because shaquille is f*ckin dumb

2nd.. magic is a nickname. his real name is earvin

which is also simple

but imagine if instead their names were

dekuanobe-jebean bryant

or

jevontamagic quinearvin johnson

nobody woulda took them seriously

So if Kareem Abdul-Jabbar were to go by Lewis (or Lew) Alcindor he would be the undisputed GOAT? I mean, he's pretty much in contention with MJ as the GOAT already with such a ridiculous name.

Hakeem should have changed his name to Hank Olajuwon, then maybe fans would recognize his Top 5 GOAT game and not be a borderline Top 10 player.

You are a prejudiced bigot, while the rest of us don't care about their names, only about their talents.

theyre mostly just white names with a funny addition to it. or spelled backwards

if you wanna talk african names then these guys would be called

these names are horrendous swag hood rendition spin offs of normal names

like brian would be turned into lebrianatavious
