Rankings are opinionated anyways.. Those who have watched him during his prime knows he is one of the greats in the game.

Is Kobe the GOAT in anything?

He's obviously not the GOAT player, guard, or SG since that same player (Jordan) is ranked above him in all 3 of those categories.

Not the GOAT Laker (Magic).

Not the GOAT player of his generation (Duncan).

There's no single basketball skill you can say he was the GOAT at. Not shooting, nor footwork, nor passing, nor defense, or whatever. Even if you narrow it strictly to SGs.

Not even the GOAT fro (Erving). Or GOAT K first name player (Kareem). Or GOAT B last name player (Bird).

Always a bridesmaid...

Yeah I know. I'm just pissed off with these comparisons threads, can't we just enjoy watching all of them?

well lets see... if we took away the 2 titles and 2 fmvps he was "gifted" by gasol

kobes career is still miles ahead of a guy like jerry west/elgin baylor/oscar robertson/julius erving types etc..

whom are all in the 12-16 range

so at worst.. an mvp with 3 rings and all time record most 1st team nba's/ 1st team defenses/ most consecutive allstar games/ 4th most points ever... has to be ranked around top 11-12th all time

and thats assuming .................................................. gasol gifted kobe

Lebron stans hate every player not named Lebron. The insecurity is hilarious.

They're not even really basketball fans. What's the point of only liking one player ?

kobe is probably the greatest scorer ever. in terms of longevity/all around/distance/off hand/creativity/tough shot making/streak shooting

i'd say hes above jordan or any other guy in that way

modern day record points in a game/most modern day multiple 60+'s/most modern day consecutive 50+'s/ three point records etc...

kobe is definitely the goat offensive assassine

jordan was just more controlled, was more efficient cause he had outside limitations, rarely shot contested threes, played closer to the basket. dunked 5 times as much.

I know you and other Kobe stans only factor in career accomplishments.

But im curious, all career accomplishments aside, where does Kobe rank in terms of impact on the court to you?

Just fall back son
Agree. The MJ comment isn't necessary. The rise of LeBrons padded ring chasing resume should trouble Kobe stans though. That much is for sure.

even higher than his resume dictates

when resumes arent a factor i measure a player based on the impact they made all time on fans/other players/in the media and around the world

nobodies reached more people and been on every word of mouth than

- jordan
- kobe
- magic

those are by far the 3 biggest names in history

and as far as impact on the court. i'd say kobes done more with less than most legends in history

when you think of what it took for all the greatest of greats.. who had the least 2nd option, 3rd option, 4th option etc...

out of the top 13 players ever

lets rank all of them in terms of who had the least help to win a ring or multiple rings

from least help to most help

#1 hakeem
#2 kobe
#3 duncan
#4 jordan
#5 moses
#6 wilt
#7 lebron
#8 shaq
#9 oscar
#10 west
#11 bird
#12 kareem
#13 magic
#14 russell

kobe had the 2nd least help out of all those legends

and he won 2 titles that way

yea he couldnt win with kwame and smush. but all he needed was a softy thats 0-16 in the playoffs

Kobe is the GOAT of this generation.

"To me, he's the no. 1 player over the 15 years I've been in this league."
-Dirk Nowitzki

"This is a good era for basketball, and it would be led by Kobe Bryant – who was the greatest player in our era.”
-Dwyane Wade

SO Kobe is the GOAT of his generation and a 5 time world champion. Yeah, I'm sure Kobe stans are "coping"...
