Default Flashback: 2004 Pistons Force 24 TO's, Dunk 12 Times (Ben Wallace Draws Five Charges)

Technically, Wallace drew five offensive fouls, but that wouldn't fit in the thread title. Four of them were charges.

Anyhow, I'm a Pistons fan so I'm biased, but these guys had a "boring" stigma back then due to their game's low scores. But that stigma often seemed off base. Their nasty defense made for a lot of exciting moments in many games (and a lot of dunks).

Either way, history has been kind to this team, so that's cool.

'04 Detroit is THE greatest defensive ball club I've seen, and it's really not even close.

Man, I miss this team. They were extremely gung-ho and played with so much heart.

2004 Pistons would be even better with the same rules the Bad Boys had.

Of particular note:

- The 0:53 mark when Damon Jones tries to be a point guard and fails to get the ball over half court for three consecutive possessions.

- The 2:47 mark provides a great look at 24 consecutive seconds of outstanding team defense, a microcosm of how that squad operated.

yup, I've been watching NBA since early 90's and no other ball club dedicated so much effort and heart to playing defense than that team...Ben Wallace was friggin everywhere on court it seemed back then

As great as this team was defensively I wonder how would they have adjusted playing in the 90s. Ben Wallace as good as he was would definitely not be playing center in those times or else would be overmatched on most nights especially with the proliferation of skilled big men.
