Default Predict Lebron's numbers if he got in a time travel machine..

..And transported back to the weak era 60's! What would his numbers look like in this overrated era? My guess? LeBron- 47ppg 16reb 18.4ast. Would be the greatest of that era. Wilt probably retires out of bloody fear of Legawd the King. Russel would find out that he's no greater than a current Tyson Chandler and retire to become a singer and replace Blue on the temptations.

What is your guess?

I guess none of the teams back then are smart enough to back off and give him five feet from the perimeter?

I'm guessing he also has a bunch of really good shooters so the defense doesn't collapse to prevent him from dunking every time. Or a a great slashing teammate.

Is he going to perfect that running one hand shot when he comes into the lane against the likes of Russell, Wilt and Thurmond?

And I'm sure he'd make Gus "Honeycomb" Johnson look like Boris Diaw.

This is basically LeBron vs 5 foot white guys with no lateral quickness. He would absolutely shit on them.

Lebron: 20 carries, 15 palms, 10 travels, 8 flops per game.

They might not call the flops back then either. Not sure about that.

Agreed. We should see something like 54 ppg, 19 rpg, 14 apg on 70% fg on only 25 shots per game.

LeBron is one of the most fundamentally sound players in NBA history. The only reason he does those things in todays game is because he CAN. If Wilt never got called with any of those, then why wouldn't a player three times his caliber be?

Think before you post.

Players in the 50s/60s were too unathletic to actually be called for traveling

Think before you post.

The reason he does those things is because he grew up in a game that changed to allow dribbling the way they do now. But you couldn't get away with much of that shit back in the 60s. You think he's going to step out of a time machine onto the court and just forget how he learned how to dribble and make moves just like that?

Obviously, I was exaggerating to make a point. But today's players would have to relearn how to dribble properly if they were transported back to then. The different era goes both ways. Rules and style of play changes over time. What works great now isn't necessarily going to work as well back then, and vice versa.

Continuing my comment from above, players today could not get away with some of the moves they make now back in the 60s. It wouldn't be allowed. Also, you're not going to dunk back then like you do now on those rims.

So do keep that in mind when comparing across eras. Keep another thing in mind. Players back then were used to a faster tempo, and played more minutes. They were less explosive, but had better endurance. That would play a factor too.

And, there was no three point line or advanced stats, or a lot in the way of game film. The shoes and courts are not what they are now. You take a player from now, and they will have to adjust to a different game. I'm not doubting that Lebron could do great back then, but he would have to adjust.

And I'm thinking that although he would still be great, he wouldn't be as great as some of you think, because he grew up playing a modern style of basketball, not the 60s style.

Yeah...take a look at the footage of a white college Pistol Pete in the 60's. The man was pitiful. Of course, to his credit, no one in the NBA in the 70's ever compared him with Oscar or West, either.

And David Thompson was playing high school ball in the 60's. "Cement Shoes" Thompson is what they called him back then. Oh, and Dr. J, was as well. He couldn't even compete in any slam-dunk competitions back then.
