That's because your an idiot. Manu a proven champion and competitor that for better or worse will give you absolutely everything he's got every single time he steps out on the court, on a 2year deal is MUCH better than a known idiot who seems not care all too often, doesn't try unless it's his contract year and who finds a way to jack up 15 shots in 20 minutes, on a four year deal.

What he has done in the past is irrelevant. He can compete all he wants, but at the end of the day he's going to be 36 in a few weeks and has showed steady decline. It's only going to get worse.

And he has played 94 total games the past two years. Odds suggest heavily that Manu will miss a lot of games.

Very good deal. It's a shame that JR has never been able to reach his full potential given his superstar level talent, but this new JR is as close as he can get to that, and the money he'll be making is well deserved.

Odds also suggest that if you put a bunch of 10 year-olds in Spurs jerseys Pop would take them to 60 wins and a 2nd seed.

So what's your point?

If these signings are pissing you off so bad then go kill yourself? I'll pre-heat the oven.

I am with you on this. Re-signing manu was a mistake for the spurs. They should have reached out to any number of other players. But, I also think the JR Smith signing isnt that great either. What are the knicks doing? Where does bargs and amare fit in? Melo is best as a 4 with a 3 who can guard opposing 4s. neither bargs or amare can really play the 5 behind chandler. They need much better outside shooting, and bargs is not a very good one, despite his rep.

That's a huge steal for the Knicks. The guy averaged 18/5/3 last season and is in his prime, so I thought he was going to command at least $9-11 million a year.

I wonder who Smith's agent is and why he can't seem to get him really big money.

I'm sure Smith gets around that much a year just by playing in New York with all the other endorsements and shit. Smith is not a spender and seems to be pretty business savvy as well as loyal despite his other shortcomings.

Maybe (although I highly doubt Smith is making $3-5 million from endorsements each yr), but I think it's crazy how an almost 30 yr old Andre Iguodala, who averaged like 15/5/5, can command $14 million a year, but a 27 yr old coming off an 18/5/3 season can only get $6 million a yr. It's ridiculous how overrated Iggy is an how underrated Smith is.

It's a decent price, but there are some guys you just can't give a long-term, guaranteed contract... and JR is one of those guys.

JR Smith not a spender?

(and not that this part is funny but) the dude got robbed and they took shit loads of jewelry and money bags.. I don't think it gets to the point where it affects his game but yes indeed, the dude is a "spender".

except manu absolutely stinked shit this year in finals and was a non-factor

doesnt matter that he's a proven champ or not... he couldn't prove it in this finals... lol

going forward he's just going to get older....

either way knicks didn't overpay for JR smith so even if he stinks they could probably trade him pretty easily down the road anyways.
