Default hawkfan Trade Scenario (forever is big): Golden State and Boston

Boston gets

Richard Jefferson (expirer)
Andris Biedrins (expirer)

Golden State gets

Gerald Wallace
Courtney Lee
6 million trade exception/salary cap savings
1 first round pick (top 15 protected)

Boston gets 2 expirers to help them rebuild. They take 6 million more in salary this year, but both contracts come off the books next season.

Golden State gets Wallace, to take over Carl Landry's spot, and Lee to take over Jack/Jefferson's spot. They save 6 million in salary this year, and get a trade exception for 6 million to use to get another rotation player. Golden State also gets a first round pick (protected) to help sweeten the pot in taking on these contracts.

Just Biedrins for Wallace

Boston need a C, and it give a fresh start for Biedrins

I mean, yeah, looks good on paper. But Wallace is like 30? And is set to make like $30million? Not sure GSW would bite on that.

I don't think the C's will give up their first round picks. They're on rebuild mode and they need those.

Fine, I'll bite.

Once a team receives a player in a trade, that team may not trade him for the next year (I think) as part of a package deal. Must trade just the one player.

So Wallace can't be sent out unless he's the only player in the deal.

If you swapped in Bass instead of Wallace then GSW might be interested with Landry and Jack both being free agents and possibly being out of GS price range.
