Defense is going to take a tremendous step backwards. Bass and Bradley...pretty much the only two guys I trust with on-the-ball defense right now.

Rebounding...I don't know. This Kelly guy isn't a terrific rebounder, but Sullly's a fighter and Rondo will get in there and fight for boards, too. Humphries will never wear a Celtics jersey, I think and Wallace is Wallace.

That being said...this team is gonna run. A lot. Any missed shot will turn into transition offense. In the halfcourt...pick and roll will be laughable and I don't know that they're going to have much of anything as far as set plays to create shots. There needs to be a lot of off-ball movement and confusing defenses or we're just going to see Rondo dribbling for 20 seconds.

If we finish at .500 it will be a miracle. I think, as constituted, this will be a 30 win team.

So as of right now the Celtics roster is:

C: Fab Melo/Bass/Olynyk
PF: Sullinger/Humphries/Reggie Evans
SF: Green/Wallace
SG: Crawford/Brooks/Lee
PG: Rondo/Bradley/Bogans

That's actually not horrible. They have a lot of players they can trade. Maybe get Josh Smith. Could they afford Andrew Bynum?

What if their roster next season is:

C: Andrew Bynum/Olynyk
PF: Josh Smith/Sullinger
SF: Jeff Green/Gerald Wallace
SG: Jordan Crawford/MarShon Brooks
PG: Rajon Rondo/Avery Bradley

That is absolutely 7th or 8th in the East.

You trust Bass with any sort of defense?

Reggie Evans is staying in Brooklyn, the trade changed from him to brooks

celtics roster looks mediocre as fcuk. then again if you are going to rebuild you might as well do it the right way and tank

Bradley is extremely overrrated. To play 30+ minutes while being ineft offenseively isn't ideal. He really does nothing on offense end. It's hard to put a guy that's a zero on the offense, but a great defensive player for more than 30 minutes. He's basically the Tony Allen of the Celtics. (which makes me laugh i'm sure since Tony Allen was on the Celtics...so Celtics fans should know). He really has no offensive game at all.

I don't know about much worse, especially if Rondo isnt back to start the season. We've just got complimentary players like Wallace, Bass and Lee who might accidentally win us a game or 5. Ideally Brooks or Bradley have a few games where they go off for 20 or something and it persuades someone to give us a good lotto pick for them.

I dont think this team will reach the Playoffs, Celtics might even postpone Rondo's return "a la Rose" to tank better.

The Cs should really just postpone Rondo's injury till All-Star Break, maybe even the whole year

C: Olynyk / Melo
PF: Sully / Bass / Evans
SF: Green / Wallace
SG: Crawford / Brooks / Lee
PG: Bradley / Bogans

That team is just horrible. Please do this Danny!

The team looks awful in the offensive end.

Your best scorer is Green. Wonder how Rondo will manage to stat pad his assists.

Bradley is much better than TA on offense. He can spot up pretty well from midrange or the 3 and it very good at cuts to the rim. TA couldn't shoot at all, even Rondo has become a better shooter. He shouldn't be your first three offensive options though.
