#3 Nobody is saying he's useless. I'm just saying certain matchups make certain role players less effective. For instance, Novak is useless against teams like Chicago and Boston because they typically close out well on shooters.

Against Boston, I think you need players that are going to attack the hoop. They don't have shot blocking and they don't leave shooters open. I think penetration is the key to the series. That's why I've been saying Raymond Felton is the key to us beating Boston. In Game 1, he was very aggressive in attacking the hoop. Boston is a great defensive team but they're old. If you make guys like Pierce and Garnett move their feet too much, they'll wear down. If you play one on one, pass the ball around the horn and don't cut to the basket, that's when Doc Rivers thrives. The gameplan to single cover Melo with your best defender and stay home on the shooters is actually a brilliant move. Let's face it, Melo is going to get his regardless. Just make him get it inefficiently. Don't let him score AND then get role players like Kidd and Novak going.

Great win. 2-0 it is. Now we need to steal one in Boston and then we would have multiple opportunities to win just one game.

Let's all give props to Raymond Felton. He's been great in this series even though his numbers don't show it as much.
14.5 points,5.5 rebounds,4 assists on 46% shooting.

Guy is a warrior and his defense has been quite good too. Not only that but he made big plays when it mattered the most.
Then you have Jeremy Lin shooting 1-7,having only 4 points,4 assists with 4 turnovers in game 1. Glad we got Raymond

Melo needs to play more like he did in the 2nd half. He needs to get his shots of ball movement or loose balls, going iso all game isn't going to cut it.

J.R. was huge in the first half, keeping us in game. Tyson looked a lot better tonight so that's a plus.
Kenyon Martin blocking the shit out of Paul Pierce was priceless
Even Shumpert contributed in this game with two threes to open the quarter.

Novak was horrible. He shouldn't even get a minute of playoff time. I would rather have Copeland out there even though he sucks too.

This game mirrored Game 1 in the 1st. Our offense looked a bit sluggish. We gave up some perimeter J's and penetration. Then we buckled down defensively in the 2nd. Only difference is, Celtics couldn't keep up and we put it on them in the 2nd half. They just had a meltdown defensively and capitalized.

Novak- He doesn't belong on the court for meaningful minutes in the playoffs. Period. There's really no two ways about it. He got abused on D by Crawford and on offense, playoff teams aren't going to let him get off. Time to look to move him this offseason.

Copeland- I think the moment might be too big for him. He just appears to have rookie jitters.

Kidd- Kidd did what Kidd does. He doesn't give you much offensively at all but he makes scrappy plays in key moments to help the team.

Melo- Took a while to get going but you know eventually he's going to show up and show out. He took over in the 2nd half and when he's hot...fahgeddaboutit!

JR- He started off hitting superstar quality shots. Then, when we were slumping, he went cold. Overall, he had a good game though. He played with heart, determination and he locked up defensively. All you can ask for.

Shumpert- He started off looking nervous. His game is predicated solely on his confidence. I don't know what was said but out of nowhere, he turned the switch. He gets the game ball in my opinion. He led the comeback. 2 big 3's and when Woody put him on Pierce, he completely shut him down.

Felton- He's been the key to our success. I don't know why Woody had him on Pierce. Not fair. On offense, Woody had Prigioni running the point and him playing off guard. Waste of time. We're best when Felton is running the offense.

Prigioni- I tried to tell yall this isn't the series for him. I hope Woody isn't stubborn and is man enough to say this isn't working. He can't run the point and the 2 PG lineup causes matchup problems on defense. It's no knock on Pablo. "Styles make fights"

Martin- Big game once again. His defense and rebounding were huge. He's the shot blocking we needed. I'm telling you, getting him might have saved our season. His intensity and toughness is exactly what you need in the playoffs.

Chandler- Gimme a break with this guy. I don't want to hear any excuses anymore. The guy stunk it up. I'm tired of Knicks fans and the media trying to find nice things to say about him every time he stinks the joint up. Bottom line is, Tyson Chandler has yet to show up for a playoff game as a Knick. Period. He had one 3 possession stretch where he got an And 1 and a block. Other than that, it was pretty much like Game 1. We look like a better team when Martin is on the court. We may even need to activate Barron for insurance. It's not like we're relying on him for scoring. I just want to see effort and intensity. All I see is a guy letting guards penetrate at will. Even if he is hurt, there's no excuse for that. Joakim Noah has a visible injury and he worked his a.s.s of vs Brooklyn the other night. Bottom line is, Chandler needs to get it together and earn his $

What do you mean "steal one in Boston"? We're winning at least 1 there, if not 2.

Even though the Knicks say that Boston is a challenge, they certainly are not treating them as one.

I guess it's hard to get ready for a shell of a team.

The Knicks know once they ramp it up, it's a wrap.

Oh yeah, we are getting at least one of those games in Boston.

Wouldn't be surprised at this point if it's a sweep.

Boston will fight though, but it wont be enough.

i hate this notion media is creating that "o its cus they are without rondo..."

as if the celtics beat us 2 years ago presumably at full strength, when infact we lost billups and amare to injuries and melo was left with douglas, jefries, fields (cant remember the rest of the team) to help carry that scoring load...but that was considered a legit sweep for the celtics

even now, teams from here on out are probably gonna be seeing this team, which is as full strength as it gets for us, but add in amare/or camby if ever in the future, and that just tips us over full strength and gives us opportunities to exploit match-ups.

i been saying this, 3rd times the charm, and i think amare /melo is gonna get it clicking, even though 2nd time around wasn't that bad

imagine you get 10-15/20 minutes a game with a featuring 2nd unit of martin, amare, jr, and fill that in with kidd/novak/prigs/melo at any point while u feature melo/jr/tyson for the majority of the game....(dont get fooled, tyson needs to and will be bigger that martin once he gets his feet under him again and he will be more important to us to advance further)

and the best part, we arent winning these games by just outscoring the other team, we are actually playing defense to stop the other team and its something huge to take note of....u see miami, they won the first two games by outscoring the bucks, bucks are also scoring at will but at the same time the bucks cant play good enuf d to stop miami. (see our 3 wins vs miami, wud have been 4 if we hadnt gone cold) they cant play d for shit, it comes down to us scoring and us playing our d.

my point, i think our d is better than that generic media created bs of miami's defense and those once a week highlight of lebron racing back for a block which makes him a defensive player of the year candidate. ...and if the refs let us play, we have a good chance to knock them off

Endof the day, we're out-Bostoning Boston. When we decide to lock up defensively, it's a wrap for them I personally don't think Rondo would change that. At the end of the day, when we falter on defense, it's usually from too much switching and giving up outside shots. In the past, Rondo coud go buck wild because, at the end of the day you're always more worried about Pierce and Garnett. Now that Pierce is a little bit more inconsistent and Garnett has ll but fallen off a cliff, Rondo would have to be the go to guy. I have ZERO problems with us saying "let Rondo beat us offensivel." My opinion of him has improved every year but I just do not fear Rajon Rondo's scoring. If we had Mario Chalmers then maybe. Raymond Felton is clearly better than Chalmers

To bluechox point...you just gotta give us our props. No matter how you slice it. Nobody has been more riddled with injuries in the last 3 post seasons than the New York Knicks. It's gotten to the point where you almost forget guys like Amare and Camby are on the team.

We'd beat them with Rondo too. Might go a little longer, but he is not the difference between winning and losing for this team.

They beat us with Bill Walker and Jared Jeffries as our second and third options. I don't want to hear any excuses coming from Boston.
