When melo gets 9 rebounds 6 assists a steal and a block, then he will get a pass for bad shooting as well.

Melo rebounds. He rebounded more than the 7 foot bum you're defending in the other thread.

It is when said power forward ISN'T A POWER FORWARD. Cmon dude lol Stop it. You're looking bad. You've defended a guy that's 7 feet for getting killed down low, but you're mad at a guy playing out of position for getting MORE rebounds? lol So even though Melo is going against one of the strongest PF in the league, his rebounding is a problem. But Tyson Chandler gets a pass when he's going against another center...despite the fact that he's paid specifically for his defense and rebounding?

I've already said Tyson has played terrible in two straight playoffs, there is nothing else to say.

Tyson sucked two straight years.

Now you need to say that 37% 41% and 39% in three straight playoffs from the supposed best scorer in the NBA is pathetic.

Say it with me.....

Carmelo Anthony does not step up in the playoffs, he just increases his field goal attempts....aka a chucker.

No...you're changing around the words so you can stick with your agenda that the Knicks made Chandler suck. Say Tyson Chandler sucks. Not Tyson Chandler sucked for the last 2 years.

And Melo's shooting % may not be great, but you're completely disregarding the teams he's played with. Name on time we went into the playoffs with a legitimate second option. It's ok...I'll wait.

Hold up?

So Melo can't be an efficient scorer because of his team mates? R u serious?

And no his fg% is awful...great is 48% and better, something he's done once in his whole career.

But I'm only judging him as a Knick.

You don't think that's the team that is built here? You really think that's just what Carmelo makes it be?

Team is built improper. What position carmelo defends matters a lot

we need to build a team where melo has to play sf, and at times when we substitute, we can move him to pf, not the other way around, we get out ass kicked on the board so often that its hard to come back from, especially in the playoffs. we need two big rebounders at the 4 and 5 who also have some skills at scoring

End of the day, he's still the 3rd best player at his position. He still lead his team to a record that is FAR greater than the sum of their talent. And last but not least, you still cannot name a player that's available via FA or trade, that will lead his team further with the players we have on our roster.

If you want to continue to be overly critical and act like Melo ruined our team, despite the fact that we've gotten better every year he was here....so be it. You can continue to buy into GM's gutting teams on both the Knicks and Jets. You can continue being "that fan" that believes the pundits in NYC. You can continue to drink the Koolaid Knickscity. I'm tired of being the dumb Knicks and Jets fan. I'm tired of running stars outta town and glorifying role players who suck. YOUR WAY HASN'T WORKED!!! THE JETS AND KNICKS HAVEN'T WON A RING IN 44 AND 40 YEARS RESPECTIVELY!!! TRY SOMETHING ELSE

Melo averaged 7.8 rebounds per game vs Pacers. David West averaged 7.8
Tyson averaged 6 rebounds per game vs Pacers. Hibbert averaged 10.3

What's worse Melo is the one who played out of position and needed to do other things besides rebounding.
Tyson is paid just to rebound and defend and he can't do either.

Spike Lee had an interesting take on the Knicks...

I will paraphrase

Quote:
The Knicks were built to beat the Heat and not the Pacers. They could not handle the youth, size, and weight.

I didnt address this earlier. Clutch wanted to make a point about Durant's efficiency in comparison to Melo's. As Clutch already mentioned and prefaced his statement is that Durant is better.

Durant is more efficient than Melo and even if you take 2 games or a game to point out Melo was more efficient then fine. The problem is and like Knickcity has said if Durant has an off night he does so many other things better than Melo that contributes to the team to win. Durant will not get the backlash of the early exit or having an off shooting night because he does everything. Durant will lead his team or be top 3 in every other category. Rebounds, Assist, Steals, Blocks...

Franchise the point you're ALWAYS missing and you NEVER get. If Melo is suppose to be a superstar then he should look to improve his all around game. Use his game to make teammates better.

If Melo did the other stuff with the inefficiency then its more forgivable.

I still dont understand how these conversations keep turning to Chandler. They play 2 different positions and 2 different levels. It's utterly ridiculous to try to justify Melo's greatness or failures based on what Tyson does. Take a step back and really think about that. That's like you comparing what Durant does to Ibaka just an FYI the only cat that Ibaka had over Durant was blocks.
It's assi-9!

The Jets situation is totally different than the Knicks because of the hard cap. You can not have a CB take up that much room on your cap best player or not, when the team has overpaid too many role players. This team had to purge those overpaid role players as well as the best player coming off a significant injury.

So if we cant compare Melo to Durant and LBJ because they are the best in the game.

I mentioned this before the only other guy Melo can be compared to is Rudy Gay (without the offensive repetoire). If Rudy Gay took 10 more shots he would be Melo?

All fans want is to see Melo take his game up another level no matter what position he plays. He should get better regardless of what's around him then he will have Free pass.

Indy was better and game 6 was not his fault.

I think, in fact, MY point it the one being missed. My issue was never about whether Melo can improve his all around game more. In fact, Scooter asked me to criticize Melo in another thread and I did just that. My issue has always been the lack of consistency and lack of appreciation for the best player we've had on the Knicks since Patrick Ewing. How a person can, in one breath, berate everything Melo does...then make every excuse in the world for Tyson Chandler being an overrated scrub baffles me. How someone can complain about our record...then EVERY OFFSEASON act like it doesn't matter who we acquire baffles me. It's the lack of consistency and congruence within arguments that really gets me.

Howard Beck ‏@HowardBeckNYT 1m Shumpert reiterates his sentiment from Saturday: That Knicks failed. Said anything less than ECF was a failure.

Howard Beck ‏@HowardBeckNYT 1m Shumpert also said he plans to play in Vegas Summer League, to work on his game and get more coaching.

Now this is what you say if you are a winner.
