Wow, do you think real life is like tv shows or movies? Firstly, there is organisational problem cause you have about 20 different departments (MIT police, Boston PD, FBI, National guards, local county police etc) all trying to find the same guy, so there's bound to be confusion between who's doing what.

Secondly, the police are only human as well. They did manage to corner the 2nd suspect, but that 2nd suspect drove an SUV over his dead brother's body and broke through the police lines. Unfortunately the situation isn't helped by lots of false alarms across the county because of jittery citizens as well.

He's some scrawny 19 year old kid and I doubt he's carrying guns, bombs and ammo on him like he's Arnold Schwarzenegger in the movie Commando.

Lol dude you need to catch up. These guys were throwing grenades when being chased by the police, and the dead brother had explosives strapped to his chest when he died.

Now they shutdown the city and if this kid was on the run, they would have spotted him and they can't?

LAPD caught a trained ex-military man and Boston PD can't catch a kid?

Incompetent.

your right. They should take a cue from the LAPD and start shooting anyone suspicious. Maybe they should just burn down any place he's at.

Are you saying that they should have stopped the second bomb between the ten second's after the first?

Also how look did it take the LAPD to "catch" dorner?

From a tactical situation......

It's not good to shutdown a city because he will just hideout. Unless they are searching every home in the city of Boston and the surrounding areas.

They should just let the city function normally and let the citizens of Boston spot him out. That would most likely to occur, if they just sent under cover cops through out the city and let the kid slip and get caught.

This would give the kid a false sense of security.

It's better if he was in public because he can't hide or run but with a lockdown city, he's just going to lock himself out of the police's sight.

that wouldn't work if the kid had an accomplice or someone helping him hide through the crowds. even in a shutdown situation its tricky. Slipping through security like Lupin the Third.

Aren't they doing precisely that? Saw photos of the PD and others searching door to door now.

CNN is reporting that 70% of watertown has been cleared by Police searches. Does that mean that 70% of all residential houses have been thoroughly searched by police?

That seems like a major annoyance but I suppose not worth the risk of not finding the guy. However, if the police's plan is to literally keep all of Boston and their surrounding areas indoors until this kid is captured, people are going to be running out of food or medicine eventually...

this.

Imagine every city in America starts catching criminals this way.

A good police department should never enter the homes of citizens. The only time they should call upon the citizens is for id'ing and reporting to the department, if they spotted the kid.

Did he get shot?

His older brother and him probably had a place to hid. This is a massive game of hide and seek.

Let's be real. There is not much going in Boston and I doubt these Boston cops are highly trained in situations like this. It's not about the layout of the city....these are cops and they are their to protect the people and you are going to tell me that it's hide and seek?

These are police officers, they should know the ins-outs of the city.

Where's the helicopters?
