Default Report: NBA tells Wolves refs missed Kobe foul

Quote:
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) --

A person with knowledge of the discussions says the NBA has informed the Minnesota Timberwolves that the referee crew erred on Wednesday night in not calling a foul on Lakers guard Kobe Bryant on the final play of the game.
The person, who spoke on condition of anonymity because an official announcement has not been made, said the league contacted the Timberwolves on Thursday to inform them they reviewed the play. The league said Bryant should have been called for a foul for hitting Wolves guard Ricky Rubio on the right wrist just as he released a potential game-tying 3-point shot. No foul was called, and the Lakers held on for a 120-117 victory.
Bryant scoffed after the game when asked about and said "you don't call that."

anyone surprised kobe got bailed by the refs again? i'm not

Well, that makes up for Dahntay Jones's uncalled foul on Kobe, whether it was intentional or not.

some reporters said the ref was being blocked out, I don't buy it.

Refs normally swallow the whistle in that instance. I don't agree with that. A foul in the 3rd min of the game is a foul the last min

I guess the precedent has been set that they'll rarely call end of game fouls. Lebron on Durant, Dahntay on Kobe, and now this

NBA made an identical statement about that foul as they did with this

If at any point you should be most aware, it's during the last few seconds of a game. Kobe getting the calls or non-calls again in this instance.
