Default Anthony Davis' last 5 games

since returning from a shoulder injury:

17 pts, 15 rebs, 4 blocks
13 pts, 6 rebs, 2 blocks (in 17 minutes)
20 pts, 18 rebs
18 pts, 10 rebs

and tonight, 17 and 11 with 5 blocks

5 games is not a huge sample size, but I think he's making it clear why he was so highly thought of. Monty Williams is finally giving him big minutes almost every night. Seems unlikely he'll catch Lillard for RoY, but if he had stayed healthy all season, I think he would be right up there.

AD has been going off, hard to believe he's this good offensively in his rookie year. Especially when he was compared to Tyson and Camby

Those comparisons were always wrong, not that those guys are bad players.

But Davis never got the credit for his offensive skillset that he deserved.

That mid range J will be like David Wests within 2 seasons.

Combined with his length and D... Hes gonna be nasty. 18/10/2stl/2blk easily.

I know it sounds really, really insane, but he's going to wind up Hakeem Lite.

Yeah, the Tyson Chandler/Marcus Camby comparisons never made sense to me, either. He showed in college he had a nice handle and a smooth stroke from 15-20 feet. I always liked the Kevin Garnett-lite comparisons, but he could actually end up being a lot better than a lite version of KG. He may never be as good as prime KG (which isn't a knock since Garnett is a top 25 player all-time if not higher). Admittedly I don't watch many Hornets games, but I think Davis will soon be an insanely long 6'10" PF with a near automatic mid-range jumper, ever improving back to the basket game, and someone who provides really good all-around defense.

I still have no idea why he only played 17 minutes against the Lakers the other night. He was playing so well when he was the game.

Its called tanking. Although the Hornets need more than just another decent draft pick...
AD would have been a beast this season if given the opportunity...

Monty Williams held AD's development back so much because he kept yanking his minutes around nightly. AD could have been ROY if he got consistent starters minutes

Anthony Davis is putting up better numbers than Rookie Kevin Garnett.
