Will D-Wade's Resurgence Cost LBJ season MVP?
FLASH BACK!
1997: Scottie Pippen had unbelievable reg season run for a MONTH to MONTH-AND-A-HALF!
Pippen won PLAYER OF THE MONTH over MJ and everyone was crediting Scottie to be the most COMPLETE PLAYER IN THE NBA as he played steller perimeter defense along with great offense.
That resulted MJ not able to defend his 1996 season MVP even though he had better efficiency & playing weight than 1996 MJ as his jumpshot was little better in 1997.
Malone won the 1997 MVP over MJ as Stockton was no Scottie to Malone.
This 15 games MIA winning streak has AS MUCH Wade written on it as LBJ!
Can this happen again!
Wade is suppose to be on the decline & a notch lower than his past. He aint playing like that.
will that result LBJ not defending his season MVP like 1997 MJ despite playing at higher level!!
Last yr. Westbrook's play costed Durant his season MVP.
your thoughts!

MVP
Re: Will D-Wade's Resurgence Cost LBJ season MVP?
Doubt it. He has performed at an amazing level consistently over the entire season and is the clear reason for the Heat's success.
As good as Wade has been at times, LeBron has been better and is the best player in the league.
I think it's in the bag for LeBron. The Heat will extend their win streak to probably around 20 if they beat the Pacers and will finish the season strong.

He got it last year because Wade was injured, and he'll get it this year because Wade is just as good? Makes no sense.

He got it last year because Wade was injured and he was slightly better than Durant.
He'll get it this year because the media have chosen him as the story of the year (and he's been slightly better than Durant), and he's playing well enough and winning enough to deserve it.

Re: Will D-Wade's Resurgence Cost LBJ season MVP?
The problem with that theory is jordan was 34 at the time and was a shell of himself and frankly wasnt that good in regular season(note that i am not comparing him to anyone else just himself).
Lebron is performing much better(regular season) compared to 34 year old jordan (which is expected of course nobody beats father time)

Had this been a few months back? Maybe. Fact is, we're three quarters into the season. Lebron has his 4th MVP locked up.

Westbrook is playing just as good as Wade.

LeBron is biggest reason for Wade's resurgence. Wade would average around 18-20 ppg on 44% without the King.
