The problem is, there's little need for one-on-one post defenders in today's league. I don't know what else he excels at, other than setting screens (which are generally effective, though a good deal of them are borderline illegal).

I agree. But it's much less effective when you can't PnR

That's the thing though, since Perkins lost his weight to get "quicker and prolong his playing career" he gets thrown around like a ragdoll. He's very weak pound for pound. He has literally no positive going for him anymore. He used to at least be a big body to stall Dwight/Bynum type guys long enough for the help D to get there now he literally does nothing but play defense on his own slashers by clogging his lane.

It's sad that people had to name 3rd string centers in order to find someone as bad as Perkins. He's the worst starting center tied with BJ mullens. Mullens however at least can score and has an upside.
