I like Motiejunas' addition to the starting lineup. His scoring and passing ability complements the 3 perimeter guys perfectly and Asik can cover some of his defensive liabilities. His basketball IQ is very advanced and he's been playing hard but his defense and stamina need to improve. Andrew Nicholson, another rookie, scored on him at will on the other end as well.
That said, he should improve in those areas with consistent playing time and experience. Wouldn't surprise me if he averages something like 15/5 in starters' minutes the rest of the year. T-Rob has looked really bad on both ends of the floor in the limited minutes he's gotten so far.
LOL @ some members saying they could do this move too.
You have to remember Motiejunas is close to 7 feet tall.
It's impressive because with all due respect, tall guys with last names this long should be tripping over their own leg hairs just jogging down the court, instead of doing world class moves like the spin move.
It was a very agile move I don't get why people are giving you flak. Montejunas is in a great situation with the rockets and it looks like he and Asik could be earning a new nickname soon. Ivory towers maybe?
Yeah, because every day that you're walking down that street you see 7 footers spinning around you like that.
The guy is going to be a star or at the very least a HIGH quality player in this league. He's athletic as hell and has great quickness for his size and is skilled as hell (at least on the offensive end.. needs to learn defense, but it's only been two starts, that'll come and is easier to teach) and has great range.
He's basically a young Dirk Nowitzki with post skills. Not saying he's going to be as good as Dirk, but he's the 7 footer with the unique ability to play inside with actual post skills and can also stroke it from outside. I lived in Dallas when Dirk was first coming up.. outside shots is basically all he did, spot up and shoot. Donuts' game at his age, is already more versatile than that. All this guy needs to do is improve on defense and receive more touches and he'll be there. What a unique skill set he has.
