Re: If OKC Could Do It Over Again, Would They Still Trade James Harden?
im pretty sure everyone is happier minus OKC and their fans that harden is in houston. he would have never showcased what he is doing on the rockets on okc. okc would not give him the key to the city with 2 better players on the team.
kevin martin really does suck. he has no other effect on the game other than hitting open 3s and drawing fouls. he is a negative on defense. not like harden is that much better, but harden has athleticism and weighs more than the 150 lbs martin does. okc better hope this uconn kid turns out ok, but as of now he is a project.
Re: If OKC Could Do It Over Again, Would They Still Trade James Harden?
He would never be a star as the 6th man/3rd option.
They needed to get rid of him or Westbrook... They should've gone after someone better in return though. I mean they wouldn't give up Harden a few years ago when the Celtics went after him hard (and took Green instead). They were getting offers but waited too long to offload him and paid the price with Kevin Martin.
Re: If OKC Could Do It Over Again, Would They Still Trade James Harden?
They still would. But since Harden's value skyrocketed this season, they would trade him and amnestied Perkins for better pieces. Surely they can get one of those rising star centers for Harden now. Such as Horford or Gasol. Or defensive centers like Dwight, Okafor or Chandler. Plus a decent 6th man.
Re: If OKC Could Do It Over Again, Would They Still Trade James Harden?
I doubt Presti is looking at a Thunder team that is 42-16 with Martin playing his role very well and Durant having one of the best offensive series ever and 2nd guessing himself.
They knew what they were doing. Get worse in the short term (this year)...but still have a good chance at the title...
Re: If OKC Could Do It Over Again, Would They Still Trade James Harden?
It was a stupid move but Harden will never be good enough to lead Houston to a championship. I don't think they would win even if they got Dwight. Houston is a very solid team but they still are a couple good pieces away.
