Default Rudy Gay is Shooting 40%

37.5% since he joined the Raptors.

Is that the lowest FG% ever for a "star" SF? And this guy is a max contract player...

He only shot 40.8% while playing for the Grizzlies this season. What's your point?

Classic Trevor Ariza syndrome. Morey tried that once, jack up the usage rate on a player who can't take the offensive role, you get fail shooting.

Surely he wouldn't have gotten a max contract if people didn't think he was a star. Many thought he was gonna become a superstar that's why he got the max.

2011-12: $15,032,144.
2012-13: $16,460,532.
2013-14: $17,888,932.
2014-15: $19,317,326.
2015-16: UFA

So that makes you the only idiot here. GTFO

Ever since Gay traded to the Raptors, they had a 6 games winning streaks.Defeated the knicks twice. What's your point?

Where have I ever said anything about the Raptors? This thread is purely about Rudy Gay and his 40% shooting.

"37.5% since he joined the Raptors"

My point was to show you the influence of a star. Doesn't really matter with the 40% fg.

That stat is very misleading and makes him look like an ordinary player. Gay brings a whole new dynamic to the offense.

Though, Rudy gay is shooting 40% on the raps, the team is definitely benefiting from having him there. Derozan has had some amazing games lately, partly due to defenses focusing on Rudy Gay more.

He may take pressure off of other guys, but he's inefficient and not nearly as clutch as people act.

He sure influences the game and helps the Raptors but at the same time he's shooting 40% which is really inefficient for a SF.

What he is doing is not even close to what's expected from him considering he is a max contract player.

So far, the Raptors offense has been better with Gay OFF the floor.

And yeah, Memphis front office made a ridiculously boneheaded move signing him to that max contract. It was clear at that point that Rudy was who he was, a middling wing scorer who brought nothing else to the table.
