Kobe was going to go to Duke if he didn't go pro. I'd say he's smarter than most people without a college education. He got an 1080 on his SAT's and and left HS with a 4.0 GPA. He is very intelligent, but his baksetball abilities were too good at a young age. Illiterate? He always sounds pretty smart and he speaks several languages and is fluent in Italian and Spanish, some NBA players can barely speak English.
