2000 All star was the best. The dunk contest, rookie game, the all-star game were all buzzing. Shaq, Kobe, Vince, AI, KG, Duncan, Kidd, Webber, Malone, Payton, Stockton etc. with T-Mac, Steve Franchise in the dunk contest... damn miss those days
Just to put it in perspective, JRich did a great job. He had some amazing dunks and if he did that recently then people would get excited and declare the dunk contest "back." But he did it a year or 2 after Vince and all i remember hearing is how bad the contest was now.
In essence Vince killed the contest. I was watching it live with a few of my friends from high school and the main thing I remember was it took 15 mins for them to do get to the next guy after Vince's first dunk. Cause the crowd and celebs were going crazy, people were running on the court.
looks like it will be another 5 or 10 years before the next great dunker owns the NBA airways, both on and off the court, because that's what Vince Carter was back in the 2000s.
I swear Vince carter dunk contest is overrated I watched it again the other day...
He was half through the 360 reverse windmill before he left the floor
His second dunk was the same as the first but from a different angle
His between the leg dunk (his best dunk) had been done before
The dunk where put his arm in the rim is his most creative dunk
Then he did a regular two hand dunk at the end
Javale McGee had some dunks that were better than Vince Carter's
