Coaches are glad that hand checking is thrown out. Players are taught to play defense with their feet and move and stay in front of the guy. Hand checking allowed lazy and poor defenders to try and push away.
We all know that these are professional players and there is no way to stop them by putting your hands on them. Hand check doesn't do anything because even if the defender pushed the offensive player and moving his pathway, it will be called a foul.
"Any part of the defender that is on the offensive player is part of the offensive player."
