Duncan is so damn historically under-rated it's a joke. He's won 4 titles. He won a title in 03 with next to nothing historically...the idea that Duncan would have ever lost in the heart of his prime with Bosh and Wade to the 11 Mavericks is the most laughable thing anyone could ever say.

So tap the brakes a bit...Lebron has a lot of work to do in order to surpass guys like Duncan on the all time list.
How so? It's the truth. Duncan won one title with an average supporting cast in 2003, but it was still much better than the trash LeBron played with in Cleveland. Doesn't mean LeBron can't win it all with a mediocre supporting cast. He's only had two options in his career - try with a trash supporting cast (Cavs) and try with an elite supporting cast (Heat). What Duncan did in 2003 is impressive but does not make him better than LeBron. In none of his playoff runs was he as dominant as 2009 LeBron or 2012 LeBron. Besides 2003, Duncan has had straight loaded teams and a much better coach than anyone LeBron's had.

LeBron basically passes Duncan after this year with another ring. Then it basically becomes LeBron's 4 MVP's and 2 titles (back to back, which Duncan never did) versus Duncan's two more rings and worse stats/far inferior offensive impact.

Duncan never came close to shooting 56.5 FG% despite being a 7 footer and living in the paint. Nor was he particularly efficient during his title runs (a pedestrian 54.1 TS% in 1999 and .540 TS% in 2005). Sure he was a great player, but offensively not even close to LeBron. He's somewhere around 7-9 all-time around where Olajuwon and Kobe are. LeBron is basically on his way to #2 all-time with no argument.

at "no argument". Just because you personally don't agree with the argument doesn't mean it's not there.

Yup. Also 1-3 in the Finals and 0 rings without Wade. Kobe has 2 rings without Shaq and Duncan won 2 rings without David Robinson. LeBron lost 3 straight years with home court advantage and got outplayed by a bench player in the Finals. . *waits for LeBron/Heat trolls to get upset and take this post serious*

Larry Bird - slow, weak, unathletic, worse than LeBron at literally everything except maybe shooting, much worse on defense, never put up close to a 30 PER (LeBron does so every year), he's not even close.

Kobe - shot 40% or worse in several Finals, couldn't lead a superteam of Pau/Nash/Dwight past the first round, is generally inefficient (has had sub 45% shooting seasons). Comparing him to LeBron is disgraceful. Yeah he has 5 titles, but he played second fiddle for 3 of those. LeBron has never played second fiddle to anyone.

Duncan - again, great player but not dominant offensively like LeBron. Success is due to his own greatness but also lucky circumstances. If LeBron had a Poppovich level coach and Parker/Manu instead of Cleveland's players, who knows how much he'd have won.

He would probably have chocked against the Mavs in 2007 instead of 2011

All I know is this scrub - he wouldn't shoot below 40% in the Finals or go 6-24 in a close out game like Kobe.

Bird was unquestionably a better shooter and rebounder than LeBron. He was a better pure passer for anyone that watched him play too (best non-PG passer of all time). Give LeBron the nod on defense, but Bird was underrated in that aspect too. Please, you know nothing about the game - Bird was arguably the greatest all-round offensive force the game has ever seen.

Worse rebounder and passer for sure. Easier to shut down because of his poor mobility and much less diverse in the styles of play he can thrive in. Bird needs to play in a half court setting because his poor athleticism hurts the team in an uptempo style. LeBron can play any style - unstoppable in transition, can post up, can shoot from anywhere, much better slasher and finisher around the rim than Bird, etc.

This is literally the absolute worst assessment of Larry Bird I have ever read. You should be ashamed of yourself....lol

Every post you ever make in the future is now void due to this post
