Re: Truth: LeBron James is already the greatest SF in NBA history
Bird, Pippen, Dr. J are still rank way higher than LeBron.. I'll rather choose those three than a stapadder whore with minimal impact in the court in the name of LeBron James.. Too many young Kids here doesnt their history.. It understandable coz they only started watching the game when LeBron went to Miami..

^^Guess you don't even know what that means, then bring stuff like PER up.
He averaged almost the same APG as Lebron, without handling the ball remotely close to Lebron, and never playing PG like Lebron does a lot, while playing with some great passers.
60 FG%, with the lane much more crowded, and without a reliable jump-shot and midrange game? Doubt it
Nope. When there are more possessions/shots hoisted up, there are more rebounds available to get. LeBron playing at 80s pace would easily average double digit boards. Easily.
And too bad he never played with the scrubs LeBron played with either. He averaged less APG playing with double double machines like McHale/Parish, having DJ at point etc. LeBron averaged 9 assists/game in 2010 with junk like Mo, Varejao, Z, 40 year old Shaq, etc.
LeBron's 30/7/9/50.3 FG% season in 2010 destroys anything Bird has ever done.

Or what about Bird playing in this weak era when compared to the 80's, with plenty of terrible teams around
Bird turned a dying franchise with the 2nd worst record in the league (29-53), to a contender with the best record in the league (61-21) and that's with the same team, no Parish or McHale yet. Then with the main addition of Parish, lead them to a championship in his 2nd year.
"Dying franchise"
LeBron took a scrub team to 66 wins and 61 wins with a far worse roster than what Bird had. LeBron took a team to the Finals in 2007 that Bird may have led to a second round appearance at best.
Bird taking Boobie, West, Varejao, Damon Jones, Donyell and all that to the Finals? Never happening.
Re: Truth: LeBron James is already the greatest SF in NBA history
But the main reason LeBron is better, which Bird overraters conveniently choose to gloss over, is that basketball is played on two sides of the floor. LeBron is statistically and visibly dominant on both ends. Bird's got nothing defensively except for some "2nd team all-defense" awards and meaningless honors like that.
LeBron is a 5-position guarding all court FIEND. Can guard the opposing team's superstar PG, their C, any position you want. He wreaks havoc on defense in a way Bird could never imagine. This is all in addition to being a better scorer/rebounder/passer and a much better athlete.
Bird was just never anywhere near as dominant as LeBron. You can pick random individual skills like "mid range shooting", "with the off hand", "from 15 feet out" and all that - but when it comes to outright DOMINANCE and imposing your will on the game at both ends, anyone who watches LeBron sees that Bird is simply no match. The stats back this up as well.

That's stupidity and ignorance about the game at it's finest. I'm not even gonna touch mental toughness, that would be comparing a kia with a Ferrari.
I don't remember Bird ever faking cramps on the finals because he was having a panic attack.

Are you just gonna ignore Bird's much higher TRB% than Lebron playing with the likes of Parish and McHale. No he wouldn't average double digits rebounds..
He averaged almost the same assists while having the ball way less time. Lebron has had so many good 3pt shooters around like Miller, Mo, Marshall, Allen, Gibson and so on, they can spread the floor more and it's easy for a physical beast like Lebron to dish and drive. Think it's easier to get the assist by passing into the paint, also more crowded than right now due to less 3pt shooters to spread the floor?
Larry Bird 1987 and 1988 trumps any Lebron season as far as stats, in a much tougher league.
Bird was in the top 2 in MVP voting 7 times, in a league with Kareem, Magic, Moses, Jordan, Erving, Hakeem, Barkley, Drexler, Wilkins, Ewing, Karl, Gervin, English, Dantley, King....
Bird once decided not to play the entire 4th quarter because the team already had the win, while he was one steal shy of a quadruple-double in only 3 quarters.
Can you imagine his stats if he demanded the ball as much as Lebron and caring about his stats like James does?
