Re: Will Odom go down as the most versatile 6'10 player?
What height range are we calling a "legit" 6-10? Anytime someone says "legit" it usually isn't legit. We calling legit 6-9.75-6-10.25 w/o shoes? Because Lamar Odom is probably only 6-9 w/o shoes therefore we should be talking about the most versatile "6-9" players when referring to him. Chris Bosh would constitute as "legit" 6-10 (6-10.25) as well as maybe Rasheed Wallace (6-9.75). Other than them I don't know of many players that are "legit" 6-10 with a standout well rounded game. Chris Webber, Larry Bird and Kevin Durant are all precisely 6-9 w/o shoes, as is Bob McAdoo (another candidate in the 6-9 category) that all compete with Lamar for "most versatile".

Wow. Never thought I'd have similar feeling about a player(Clark) with a Kobe stan.
Don't know if Earl will be in this discussion in the future but right now he's playing like one of the more versatile bigs in the league.

KG, Chris Webber, KD (he's 6'10 right?)
versatility includes how versatile you are on defense and since Lamar never played a lick of D until those championship Laker teams, I can't give him that distinction.

Kevin Durant
Bob McAdoo
Larry Bird
Chris Webber
^--- are all EXACTLY the same height w/o shoes (6-9) therefore we should all try to stick to a pilosophy of height (either grant people the same consistent 1-2 inch inflation to accomodate the typical thickness for modern shoes whether a player played in modern shoes or not, or don't worry about the variable of shoes altogether). We shouldn't say Kevin Durant or Chris Webber are 6-10 w/o also saying Larry Bird or Bob McAdoo (both listed only 6-9) are also 6-10 because technically all four of those guys despite list heights were identical in measured height w/o shoes.

Odom will go down as one of the players I will forever dislike no matter how good he gets for what he did or rather not do for the Mavs in his stint there what a loser diva
Re: Will Odom go down as the most versatile 6'10 player?
Larry Bird, Willis Reed, Chris Webber, Elvin Hayes, Kevin Love, Dan Issel, Bob McAdoo all had a wider game than Lamar, all of them knock his lights right out.
Tim Duncan.
Moses Malone was just as much if not more versatile too, actually, people tend to forget how the big Sixer had great handles, did lot of cutting, slashing, driving. Moses had a lot more O skills than just a single-dribble spin move. Nice jumper and could steal at midcourt and finish in heavy traffic just fine.
Hakeem of course, was not a 7 footer at all, but a true 6'10" monster who played a lot of outside ball when Sampson was on the court.
Now Lamar does have a wide skill set, I've seen him play all 5 positions really, but he's not most versatile, not as a big or even within his height range. If you give Magic a inch .......... he'd take a mile
