Default Dwight Howard shoulder injury update

Lakers trainer Gary Vitti said Thursday center Dwight Howard, who aggravated a shoulder injury Wednesday, is sore and is being listed as day to day. The team will have a better idea Friday if Howard will be able to play at Minnesota. Pau Gasol would likely move into the starting lineup if Howard is out.

Analysis: Coach Mike D'Antoni said Wednesday Howard's injury "is something that will hurt, then it will go away and he will be able to play." He truly is a day-to-day candidate. Sure, the uncertainty of Howard's playing status can be frustrating to Fantasy owners. Couple that with the fact Howard's performance lately hasn't been very inspiring. He is averaging 10.4 points and 7.7 rebounds in his last seven games. But it's hard to bench Howard when he is active because of his past track record. Hopefully, he will get back to filling up the stat sheet since Howard is an elite Fantasy option when healthy.
