Im not even a Kobe fan. But how do you not add Deng into the deal to get Kobe? The "Baby" Bulls core ended up not being all that anyways.

At the time, Bulls didnt know how good Deng was going to be, and whether they actually wanted a disgruntled Kobe...So they played it safe, in hindsight they should of done it.

how do you not add deng? well, lets think about it logically. kobe basically said fvck no to any trade with the bulls if deng wasnt going to be on his team. And the Lakers didnt want anything else they had.

So as much as the bulls would have loved to give up on deng to get a prime kobe, they didnt have a choice.

Eventually, big bad kupchak said fvck you to everyone and took kobe off the trading block.
