A gay player on the raiders would most likely get hazed but on the Patriots(or any veteran team) most players would turn a blind eye.
Depends if teams have ghetto thugs like Chris Culliver.
"if" ???
man that is 90% of all NFL teams...20 year old blacks from the hood, broken families...These are not mature individuals...many of these guys are just like Pacman Jones and Mike Vick, just not as famous
and many of the players that come off as "mature" are not that way behind closed doors...
being gay in the NFL was "intense pain"...made him suicidal
Sterling Sharpe:
sorry, but you guys are kidding yourselves if you think the NFL is full of gays...it is a nightmare for them.
They just keep it hidden. Do you think gays keeping things hidden is a new thing? Do you think it's easy to spot gay people? The Army has more people than the NBA, and until recently you couldn't even be gay, and even know it's not going to be popular. Do you think they have no gays too?

Obviously there are plenty of gays in the closet, I am saying that the NFL is not a place they would be happy as compared to a normal office job...
Do you not think percentages can be skewed because of the type of job?
Would you be shocked to learn there is a high % of gays that are hair stylists?...if that doesn't shock you then why would you be shocked to learn there is a low % of gays in other professions?
you think there are an equal amount of gays through out every occupation type?...if so you're wrong
Re: 49ers CB Chris Culliver says gay players not welcom
to my knowledge there are only 3 former NFL players that have "come out" after retirement...and the SF Tackle that just did so not long ago is one of them.
Surely if gays were commonly found in the NFL this number would be higher...

The hood has a lot of fellas on the down low. When I was a kid, I actually saw two dudes on the act in the park. Almost scarred me for life.
Re: 49ers CB Chris Culliver says gay players not welcom
1 in 20 people in the U.S. openly admits to being homosexual (%'s are actually higher among men). My guess is the real number is probably higher than that, but who knows. How many players on a Football team? Around 60? Even if you want to argue the %'s are lower because of the working environment, my guess would be each team in the NFL has at least one fairy on the squad.

No...there would be more to have come out and support the only 3 that ever have
Your talking about hundreds of gays in the closet over time...maybe a thousand...and only 3 have come forward?
I think being gay in football environment would be like pure hellish torture like the man saud, thus they just avoid it.
Re: 49ers CB Chris Culliver says gay players not welcom
I think a big part of why we have never had an openly gay active player is due to the simple fact that there just aren't many of them...they don't subject themselves to locker rooms
Re: 49ers CB Chris Culliver says gay players not welcom
Why did the 49ers let him answer questions for an hour with no one present to help him or get him out of there yesterday? I get he said something stupid but that was excessive.

you really love that point don't you. i'm guessing you don't come across many gays that you think that would stop them from pursuing a career in something. Gays get shit everywhere, not just locker rooms.

Dude read what Sharpe and the gay Vikes player said...its not like working at a fckin Starbucks...he thinks if anyone had found out they would have taken him out during practice...its not an office type atmosphere

So they hide it. I've found out people were gay who hid it for 30 years. It's not impossible to hide.
Is there anything you ever argue that you don't think is infallible?
Re: 49ers CB Chris Culliver says gay players not welcom
So you think the majority of people that play football hate gays so much they would go from being being friendly with a teammate to wanting to injure and end his career?
You don't think it's just lots of gay jokes and throwing "fggot" around a lot and that one player was just being an emotional fggot about it?
Either way, need a gay Jackie Robinson. Hopefully someone super flamboyant and dominant.
