I've said it before, but Bird had the fundamentals to have played until he was 40 and still have been one of the best players (top 5) comfortably. Unfortunately, injuries robbed us of more years of Bird doing his thing. Bird as a Rookie was already off-the-charts brilliant/efficient but as he aged he was forced to use his intelligence even more and performances like the above are a testament to just how good he was even without the requisite fitness.
Bird, in his last season; crippled, old, past it, etc put up 19.7 points, 9.4 rebounds and 6.6 assists.
