Re: Matt Ryan can't win the big one.
Matt Ryan's only mistake in the game was the fumble, that was purely on him and it was a costly turnover. I thought the interception wasn't really his fault because it looked like the WR tripped coming at the end of the route which resulted in a INT. Other than that he played great and threaded the balls perfectly to Jones, White and TG but I think Ryan's play will get overshadowed because of the ability of his targets(which are great)
The difference between Kaepernick and Ryan was the running game. Niners have the best running game in the league and the Falcons did everything to contain the read option and as a result left huge gaps in the field elsewhere. Ryan doesn't really have that luxury as the offense is built around him.
Where do the Falcons go from here? What are there cap situation looking like? They definitely need to get meaner on defense as that defense reminds me of the Colts defenses under Manning. Soft, piss poor at tackling, awful against the run, etc. They definitely need a tough MLB who can fill in the gaps and help clog up the running game and possibly some help in the interior DL to help with penetration.
Should they trade Roddy White? Yea he's great but his value atm is the highest possible and what if a team like STL offers one of their 1st rounders for him? Falcons can revamp their defense, get younger + cheaper and use the cap saved to spread it on their roster.
