He played a good game, yea the fumble was very Romo-eque but he was solid other than that. His defense after the 1st quarter was absolutely pathetic who kept on getting burnt by Davis repeatedly.
1) Matt Ryan is to blame for letting the 49'ers score 28 points?
2) Matt helped his offense score 24 points against the best defense IMO in the league. He had 400 yards, 3 touchdowns and a pick and fumble.... let me reiterate this again....against the best defense in the league.
3) The 49'ers are clearly the more talented team except for the outside skill positions of wr and te. Literally everywhere else is either a monsterous advantage (DLine, linebackers, oline, coaching) or a moderate advantage (running backs) or arguably the same (secondary)
Give Matt Ryan a defense that holds one of the highest scoring teams ever to 13 points in a playoff game and he'd win these type of games too.
Matt is not the problem. When the others around him, specifically the defense, start pulling their weight in the playoffs he will enjoy consistent playoff W's.
Just like Peyton. Once his TEAM started playing well in the playoffs, and thus overcoming two poor performances from him which otherwise would have led to loses, we won a superbowl. It's funny that such an inconsistent playoff run from him got the monkey off his back.
Note: I am only talking about this particular game....I recognize and agree that Ryan has not held up his end of the bargain in previous playoff games, like the GB game and the Giants game. Those were very bad and he deserves criticism for those efforts.....but not this one.
