The top 5 steals leaderboard are usually a whose who of terrible defenders who gamble too much. I think they should keep track of missed steal attempts. All these out of bounds or whiffs should be counted as "steal attempts" because when you miss the steal you are also risking a better shot or fouling, so it should be important how often you are successful only relative to how often you try.
They should keep track of failed rebound attempts too then. Because when you fail to get the rebound some players ignore their man and leave him open to score. Stupid OP is stupid.
