"According to two people with knowledge of the situation, the Memphis Grizzlies are working out veteran point guard Mike Bibby today in Phoenix. Bibby, the 34-year-old who lives in the Phoenix area, has been out of work since playing 39 games for the New York Knicks last season.
According to one of the people who requested anonymity because of the private nature of the situation, the Grizzlies are one of “four or five” teams that will be working him out as he attempts to sign on with a team for the second half of the season. The Lakers, however, are not one of them"
4 or 5 teams? anyone care to take guess as to what the remaining few teams are.
Re: Mike Bibby working out with an NBA team... not the lakers!
Bibby needs to retire and go into coaching or broadcasting.
He's an intelligent person - I liked him with the Hawks.
But he needs to end his playing career.
If not, then go to Houston and help out Jeremy Lin as a third string point guard.
Re: Mike Bibby working out with an NBA team... not the lakers!
I just realized that West would be a great fit for Memphis. Hard-nosed, gritty defender, smart team player and he can shoot. Add him and CDR and you don't have to make moves.
Tho I guess one could argue trading for Reddick, if the Magic were so inclined to get worse (they might be).
Re: Mike Bibby working out with an NBA team... not the lakers!
dont really want him or delonte on the grizz. Im content with what theyve been doing. Just need to fine tune some defense and shot selections on the offensive end.

You don't want to disrupt that teams chemistry. CDR is in the D league not because he can't play but because he's a jerk. Delonte is out of a job because his head is somewhere else. What GM in their right mind would add not one but two head cases to their locker room?

A lot of people on this forum really don't like risks.
Memphis also took a chance on this guy affectionately known as Z-Bo...see how that worked out?
They also took a risk on Marc Gasol as well by trading away their best player Pau.
They didn't get so good by playing it safe.
A Delonte acquisition would be risky obviously, but how does that deviate from their past?

I don't think that either West or CDR has the potential of Zbo or Gasol. You can get the 10 pts somewhere else. So while I'm all for taking a risk, this risk isn't worth taking. They are no longer a struggling team trying to figure out how to be competitive team looking to make some serious noise. I don't think that either of these two are a good fit right now. This team is a team w a lot to lose. Should the wizards take a chance on them? Sure but these two aren't gonna put you over the top this year.
