Heat started pretty bad in '11 if i remember correctly. Never know.

Nash should dominate the ball. Howard should be first option with pick and roll. Gasol should play in post and Howard and Kobe must cut inside. Also Kobe needs to play off ball at offense most of the time and iso if none of these work. It doesn't take genius to see it.

Until Nash & Howard are playing healthy and Gasol comes back or traded, early to say how far Lakers can go. I don't think they'll play Kobe-ball entire season for their own sake.

LA has to overcome several issues to make a run.

First is their coach is garbage and unlike most coaches that the players can overcome he tries and makes teams play a garbage system that can kill them.

Next is meshing. Is Nash going to dominate the ball or Kobe? Is Pau every going to be a big part of the offense or rotting away on the pine in the 4th?

Next is age. They're old. They can't afford to have to make a big push at the end just to make the playoffs cause that will take energy they don't have.

Finally is depth. They have none.

They could. I believe they have the starting five talent to do so, not really sold on the bench, but I believe they could. They are dealing with injuries. Howard isn't 100%, Nash out, Gasol is out and wasn't 100% while he played, and they are making silly yet fixable mistakes.

I don't really think they will make it to the Finals, but they could fix the problems that they having. We are going to have to see how well they play those starting five play together. Even though it's been said already, you have to wait for Nash to come back. But they are down in the dumps right now, but the problems that they are having could be fixed. Whatever they will do it on time is a curious thing. They are on a time limit, and they have to win now.

Make the finals only if either they fire the coach and get a real one this time......or injuries destroy the competition......regardless it looks very unlikely even with the Mamba.

Somehow mid season they're gonna get all star players, and David Stern will make sure they go to the finals and win it all. There's no way that guy is retiring without the Lakers being on top.

If the management remains patient enough not to fire Mike, and not go out finding another PG, Lakers will get it together and make the finals. There is still people judging the Lakers team without their most important piece Nash.
