I heard Mike D'Antoni wanted to have McMillan as his assistant coach, but was declined. Apparently McMillan has better plans, we will see how that works out.

Bad move by McMillian...he could have been head coach of the Lakers by the end of the year, with the way things are panning out.

I dont get the fan labelled things. He can change teams he root for anytime. Until He's a good fan, what wrong with that?

Perhaps he really does not have any interest in coaching the Lakers team at all? Way too much pressure, unless you keep winning 5-6 games in a row. Hes better suited to coach a playoffs caliber team not expected to win anything as big as NBA titles.

I can find posts of his from the year before last referring to the Nets as "we", "us", etc. and then suddenly the Knicks become good and he jumps ship. That's fine, I can respect that, but then he loves to crap on his former team and former fellow fans.

I also like the idea of picking a system guy from a proven team like SAS as a coach. Someone that's learned form the best. Shaw is another example. This team needs to have a system and identity on offense. Our defense has been fine for the most part and I do credit Avery for that. But we have no identity offensively and his substitutions and decision making is suspect.

@chuckoakley,
you should post in the between-game thread in the nets forum, sometimes. your analysis is good, and a lot of the comments in the individual game threads get lost when those threads fall out of sight.

K... once Lopez is back and this team is watchable I might!
