Re: How come nobody ripping gasol for his fg% like they always to with kobe?
I don't know the exact numbers but due to Howard coming to LA, Pau has taken a lot more jumpers then he wants. More jumpers=less attempts/points in the paint. That could be the answer. His high-low passing to Howard is pretty cool though. Although I hated it last night.

This is exactly why you don't put all of your faith into numbers, even a seemingly simple stat such as FG% can be misleading because it doesn't take into consideration shot selection, such as the distance at which the shot is taken as well as how many defenders are on the player, as well as the volume of shots put up and so forth.
Either way it looks like it's just a bad shooting stretch for gasol, i'd expect him to get it up to at near 50% even if he is taking more shots from the perimeter. Which is a good thing because you want to give Dwight as much room to operate in the low-block as possible. Even if gasol hits his midrange jumper at 45% that's still enough to keep defenses honest.

I would think because it would be a kneejerk reaction. Gasol's always been effecient. 7 games into a season is not long enough for people to think that it's gonna be like that from here on out.
Re: How come nobody ripping gasol for his fg% like they always to with kobe?
Kobe's percentages being so high is a reflection on him changing his mentality during a game. Most posters that have been saying Kobe's percentages will take a huge dip later in the season probably haven't been watching Kobe play.
Kobe has been very good with his shot selection (unless he's taking a bailout shot for the team, like last night.) He has been playing a very controlled game and will go for long periods of time without even attempting a shot.
Gasol's percentages have also been affected by his mentality. Gasol has been letting go and taking shots whenever he's open. He's less hesitant about his shot selection now and you can tell from his play. He's not afraid to make a risky pass or take a jumper anymore. While i liked how efficient Pau has been in the past, I feel like this Pau is better for the team. No hesitation anymore.

you don't have people trying to compare Gasol to MJ or Magic or Bird and saying he's the GOAT or saying Gasol was the best player on the 2009/2010 title teams like they try to do with Shaq/Kobe.

Oklahoma City's starting lineup has a pathetic 97.4 offensive efficiency this season, according to NBA.com, in 181 minutes of combined duty. That would rank them 26th in the league, right between Cleveland and Philadelphia.
