So, in my opinion, the Lakers or Thunder have the best shot.
Out of those two, I'll give it to the Lakers based on pure talent and experience. However, have yet to see them play to their potential. Hopefully, that will change, with the hire of Mike D'Antoni. I doubt it. I don't like this coach, but it is what it is.
The Thunder are still as big of a threat as last year. So, they could take the West. I think it's a toss up at this point between them and the Lakers.
However, no one is beating the Heat in the finals. Unless, Lakers get to the finals and Dwight and Kobe have monster games. Still would go 7 and be close.
Oh forgot about the Grizzlies. Well, I'll give them 3rd best shot to win. Actually, currently second best shot. Until I see the Lakers improve. The Lakers have the potential to be the best team in the West. So, I have to count them in it.
Grizzlies would give Miami a little trouble, but still think Heat would win in 5-6 versus this team.
This x10.. it's ridiculous how soon some people want to crown a winner or place a title on someone.. 10 pages into the season "who would win MVP right now?". Why care about who can play the best basketball over a period of 10 games? I know the regular season is pretty drawn out sometimes but there's 82 games in the regular season for a reason
If Kevin Martin can remain healthy, I got OKC getting back for a mulligan with Miami. Westbrook and Durant is still the most dynamic duo in the conference.
Silly question. Easily the Lakers. It reminds of the not-so-distant past when people were questioning whether the new-look super trio Heat would come out of the East after starting out slow (9-8) in 2010 and were tip-toeing on the brink of elimination in the 2011 ECSF and ECF. In the end, their overwhelming talent prevailed.
Now you have pathetic teams like the Grizzlies, Knicks and Clippers that have been utter laughing stocks for this entire decade getting off to hot starts while the super-stacked Lakers team started off slow due to poor coaching/injury and of course people are going to dismiss the inevitable foregone conclusion of LA meeting Miami in the Finals.
Keep dreaming that sissies like the Grizzlies and Clippers are title contenders, but come playoff time we all know the Lakers will slaughter them.
