Default The 1-2 rule or How Jordan revolutionized the Game

Mikan, Chamberlain, Russell, Abdul-Jabbar, Bird, Johnson, Jordan. What do those generational players have in common? They came in wave of one, followed by two ad repetitam. Just look :

50' : Mikan
60' : Chamberlain&Russell
70' : Abdul-Jabbar
80' : Bird&Johnson
90' : Jordan

This is a rather funny coincidence. And I am not able to explain why such a things happened that way. But what seemed like a rule of sort has been destroyed by Jordan who made the NBA the superbrand it is today.

How so? There has been 4 generational player since Jordan. Three of them are even still playing today. Who are they? None other than Bryant, Duncan, James and O'Neal.

And this is why Jordan is the biggest superstar the sports world has ever seen.

It also seems like there will be less generational players in this generation. We've got Durant. And we're still waiting for others to emerge to that level.

No he was an amazing player such that there is really no need for his sycophants to try so hard to invent mythical accomplishments.

No one has invented mythical accomplishments, though.

He's the best on his current resume alone, hypotheticals just make his potential resume even greater.

Just makes him as a player / icon / symbol more mythic, and fascinating.

This thread is the definition of a mythical accomplishment. Jordan is the "biggest superstar" because Shaq, Kobe, Duncan and Lebron are legendary players.

That's the thing. He was great. But if he really was the undisputed GOAT, why do people have to make things up? He had 6 titles but he could have had 9! But he didn't. People have to come up with convoluted stats to put him at number 1 because he has so few records.

What are you talking about? Without Jordan, the 8 foot tall Duncan and Shaq duo as well as Kobe Bryant whose father was a professional basketball player would have never picked up a basketball.

C'mon dude, look at your agenda. It's in your avatar.

Thread OP retard has nothing to do with MJ being a mythic player, and by all accounts the best player of all-time.

My agenda is separating mythology from reality.

This thread is mythology.
The reputation of defense during Jordan's era is mythology.
