Didn't this guy put up a string of 30-40 point games a couple years back? Didn't Mark Cuban call him the future of the franchise? What the heck happened to this guy?
Didn't he missed a long period with injury? Plus he's too small to be a start with his ball handling and passing but should be a good points off the bench guy
What's amazing is that there was a time teams would've given up real talent to Dallas to get him. Bet Mark Cuban wishes he could go back in time to some of the recent trade deadlines.
what happened to barrea,butler,stevenson,terry,chandler,kidd etc????????????
that was a championship caliber team.lol
barea is still doing what he did in dallas when he isn't injured, butler was hurt for their championship run but was never that good, stevenson is garbage, terry is still near the same level, chandler is playing better in ny, kidd is playing better in ny.
He is too small to play his natural position (SG) and he's been really slow transitioning to PG. He's insanely quick but lacks control, his jumper is inconsistent and he's turnover prone. He's also built like starvin Marvin and is injured all the damn time.

He should be used in the SG role on offense, playing alongside a bigger ballhandler, who can defend the opponents SG on D. He doesn't make his teammates better, but can definitely light it up when given control of the offense. That's when he's at his best.
I don't think he fits in well with this Mavs team, but he could definitely be valuable on other squads. He was JJ Barea before JJ Barea and he could get back to being that guy if he's put in the right position.
You're right about the injury trouble though.. But he's gonna have a tough time getting through that if he's not playing.
I don't understand guys talking about "he has trouble trying to turn into a PG", or "he's too small" etc.
The guy has had a ton of injuries, let him some time to get back into NBA rythm, we'll judge after 30 games or so

Butler was on his way to making the All Star team in 2011....not that good?
man, you gotta seek help. no reason for eric bledsoe to be in this thread.
My inclusion was due to the fact that as prospects they were being compared. Elite athletes, insane wingspans, knack for rebounding and blocking shots. So it's semi-relevant if you've watched both players.
He was full of confidence his first year, but then he was injured all of the second and a lot of the third year. The biggest thing I see is confidence though. And if you go look back at his shooting stroke in his rookie year, the shots did not have as much arc, he shot faster (more confident) and played with more speed.
Now he seems to think too much, he's not confident and his shot looks a lot different in my eyes than it did from when he was playing really well. They are all rainbow, high arching shots. Plus, he has zero "swag" or whatever you would like to call it... he has a very quiet demeanor and intensity is not something you'll see from him a lot of the time.
